Lunt Marquee Qustion

I was passing by the Lunt on wednesday and saw that they were setting up the theatre for Mermade. I was under the impresion for a long time that there were two marquees at the theatre. One facing 7th and the other one facing 8th. When I walked passed there there was no marquee facing 8th. I did a double take. The qustion that I am asking is this. Was there ever a marquee facing 8th and they took it down or was there never a marquee on that side at all and my mind was playing tricks on me.

the marquee faces niether 7th nor 8th. It faces out onto 46th st. The corner of 7th is a mess of scafolding and used to be a Howard Johnson.

Technically, the marquee is angled towards Broadway/7th Ave. But I don't think I have seen a marquee facing 8th Ave at that theatre, at least not recently.

ohhhhh.....by "marquee" u mean the actual sign that said "beauty and the beast"....I dont' remember one facing 8th avenue. sorry about the mistake.

There were two "signs" just rectangular boxes that said BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, one facing East and one West.
I am sure they will be replaced very soon, they are down now.

I think that when I went there was the marquee facing the seventh avenue side and it was black. In other words the sign inside it that said beauty and the beast wasn't there. I think tha they took down the 8th avenue one and are going to replace it and they are going to do the same for the 7th avenue one. They just haven't gotten to it yet.
