What is the balcony seating like at the Lyceum theatre please? I've heard varying things. some people say it's wicked steep and not good if you don't like heights, other people are saying it's fine. Is there a substantial difference from the rear mezzazine?

I legitimately won't sit in the Lyceum balcony because it's terrifying. It's very steep and it also slopes at the sides, and it feels very far away.

Balcony is steep and you have the feeling that your on the roof looking down. I will not sit up there even for free. Twice in my younger years and never again. The mezz is a lot smaller and much closer to the playing area. Look for discounts on line or do tkts and why see a show from the oldest theatre on Broadway in a lousy seat. No elevator and stairs to a nose bleed height.

Agreed. Sat up there for the second time at Be More Chill very scary and I like heights, but it feels unsafe even though it is

Uh....I sat in the last row of the balcony for Be More Chill, The Visit, and View From The Bridge and thought it was an excellent view for the price. I don't have a fear of heights at all so maybe I didn't take that into account, but view-wise, it's MUCH better/closer/intimate than you will get at most other houses with a balcony.

I've sat up in the balcony for OH HELLO and Play that Goes Wrong and found it fine for the price (yes i'm cheap.) For both plays I felt engaged but then again both plays were comedies. I agree with others though that for a play like Christmas Carol sitting in front mezz or orch may be better.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I am not great with heights so I think the balcony is out!

Posted: 11/4/19 at 5:56pmThis show is baffling to me. Previews start on Thurs, nearly the entire theater is available and there are no discounts, no TDF, etc. I’d like to see it but not being able to get inside for under $100 unless you’re in the deathly balcony, no go for me.

The balcony there is awful.
This production is best viewed from the Mezzanine for sure

There are $40 rush tickets. If it’s not selling well, as had been suggested, I imagine it wouldn’t be that difficult to score a pair of them.

Odd - I got an offer from Broadway Direct few weeks ago for the first couple weeks of the production... CCBWD925 is the code.

Yeah. I also got that Broadway Direct offer. I was just looking for tickets for my family over Christmas though and dang the December weeks are already well sold. I'd wager there'll be a fair few offers going the next few weeks and then zilch after Thanksgiving (which let's be honest, makes sense with the title and content on this one).
