Evita lyrics-

At sixes and Sevens- Ok it is a play on the "Dressed up to the nines" line. It is a comparison between the fact that she is a girl they once knew who is in this new position of power and respect and she admits that she is completely speechless and confused,

There again we may be foolish- Well, here Peron is simply saying that it might be easier to just kick back and not bother trying to win the presidency. Eva of course, recognizes that this is not the most ambitious option and pushes his buttons to get him to commit to the election.

My favorite confusing lyrics (although I think I have them deciphered) is the beginning of Anthem from CHESS
"No Man, no madness.
Though their sad power may prevail.
Can posess, conquer my country's heart,
They rise to Fail.

Kind of obvious when you write them out, but really weird the way they sit in the song.

We just finished doing that show (don't get me started), and our director well... isn't really good with musical theatre. She tried to tell Lady Larkin it meant, "Oh you, me, one baby - oh! maybe twins!" I wanted to quit right then and there.
