The pic with the NYT's review is REALLY snarky. They/he found & posted the most unattractive pic possible.

So disappointed to read so many negative reviews. The original was quite wonderful. After his disastrous rewrite of FLOWER DRUM SONG some years ago, perhaps Mr. Hwang should have left well enough alone.

Will not bother seeing it on my next trip.

His Anastasia review was a masterpiece of the genre.

I love the M. Moth opening sentence! I also found his Anastasia review to be quite amusing.

I thought his Anastasia review was misogynistic and all over the place. Was he the one who tried to make a random reference to Ivanka?

Gizmo6, I think it'll be an easy rush. I went around 11:20 on a Friday and got a ticket.

Gizmo6, Be leery where you sit, if you do a Wednesday matinee.  When I saw the show on November 1, 2017, you can hear all the construction from the outside street through the walls.  I was in the mezz on right side of theater.  I complained to the House Manager at intermission, who told me they were suppose to stop work before 2:00.  Obviously this did not happen.  She wanted me to go and complain.  I told her she was crazy.  She did not offer, but i asked to be moved.  She found me a seat in the orchestra all the way to the wall.  I felt it would be an obstructed view, so i went back to my original seat before intermission ended.  Thankfully, the construction stopped for the second act.  Her superior should really take a better control of that situation.  If I lived in New York, I would have demanded a ticket for another viewing.

Wow....I guess I’m in the minority but I loved this show. The original production was one of my all time favorites and I couldn’t wait to see this revival. I rushed on Tuesday....got to theatre at 5:00 PM and easily scored 2 front row tickets for $35 a piece. Jin Ha was amazing & I thought Clive was well suited for the role.

As others mentioned, one of the most memorable moments of the original was the gender reveal and I still remember my jaw dropping as BD Wong stripped his makeup off but times have changed & the rewrite is necessary in today’s climate. Don’t let the negative reviews keep you away, especially if you can rush for $35. M. Butterfly is worth it!

Oh wow ARTMAN that must of been so annoying. I would of been out on the street but I agree it's not the audiences job to do that. I'm just a grump.

Will definitely keep an eye out when on the way in I'm only there for three days so I don't want to waste time on a show I can't hear/enjoy.

Thanks for the advice :)
