This si so swsome I hope it happens. Broadway needs more real rocknroll people rather than these fake ones. But one question. Is Chitty a rocknroll show? Why is Rhoul Espinoza or whatever also in it? Why two "rock" style people?
I hope it doesn't happen. Broadway does not need more "real" rock and roll people. They need to stick to their thing, and let the broadway stars handle the broadway musicals.
Spare me...
I know I just don't think there's a ton of Broadway music on Broadway right now.
Who are the "fake" rock and roll people you're talking about? And please, if you're going to question the validity of an actor's right to be in a show, at least learn how to spell their name right.
"And please, if you're going to question the validity of an actor's right to be in a show, at least learn how to spell their name right."
Please read the post again only very carefully with your thinking cap on. The question is whether Chitty is a rocknroll musical because Rhaul and Meat are two people known for being able to do "rock" music.

RAUL ESPARZA is not a rock artist. He's a versatile actor/singer who can do most anything. And CCBB is not a rock musical. Do some research for once, it might be beneficial.

Wasn't Meat Loaf in the original cast of Hair? And, hate to sound stupid, but what's going on with him that inspired this thread in the first place? I must have missed something...
Meat Loaf was indeed in "Hair" years ago. He was also in the film "Ropcky Horror." I just cannot see him on stage doing that many shows a week, and I do not know what show anyone is talking about.
Meat Loaf colapsed last year after a concert. He was very nice when I met him a few months ago. He is a rocker and my favorite album of his is "Bat Out of Hell."

Carolyn
Meat Loaf was a stage actor long before he was a rock-n-roll singer. He was in 'Hair,' did 'Rocky Horror' in LA (leading to the movie role) and was in short-lived shows like 'Rock-a-Bye Hamlet.'
In interviews he's always said he's an actor who backdoored his way into being a rock star.
Can he still do eight shows a week? I have no idea, doing a musical isn't the same as doing a rock concert and I can't imagine they're thinking of him for an all-singing, all-dancing sort of tour de force role. He collapsed after concerts in 1976 also but he's managed to tour for twenty-odd years regardless.
So this would be a departure for Meat? I only know Roul from TABOO and ROCKY HORROR which are rock type musicals. Sorry.
The boy can sing but putting Meat in this show is like putting Marilyn Manson in "Oklahoma".

He's playing the Child Catcher - arole I could actually see Marilyn Manson playing!
Meatloaf has a phenomenal, almost operatic voice. I always thought he'd be a good Phantom (of the Opera).

Never mind.
I'm not sure what I think about this.

Meat Loaf is also recording Bat Out of Hell 3 and starring with Rob Evans in Batman the Musical

I have to say that I do like his music. Of course, he did not write it.
i'm sure he would do fine he was in a couple broadway shows in the 70's including rocky horror. it's not always bad to have a music artist in a show.

Oh, this is actually kinda fun and exciting... especially since in the movie the child catcher is a scrawny, limby disguisting little man... :) WTG Meat...

::sigh:: I like his music, but why couldn't it be Euan??!
Because Euan needs his OWN show!
I think Meat Loaf would be interesting...but no one can top Richard O'Brien!
I have to agree with LizzyBaby on that one. I think Meat Loaf has an amazing voice but first of all, the Child Catcher doesn't have to have a good voice.
I'm just trying to remember the show, does he even have his own song? Isn't he just calling out 'Childreeeeeeen' all the time
And secondly, Meat Loaf is a big boy, and as LizzyBaby said, the Child Cather is meant to be all scrawny and little man. Oh well....
