Today I attended Clubbed Thumbs's Winterworks performance program, and the show bios credited some artists who are listed as "Mentors" for the program. Lila Neubebauer was one of the people listed, and her bio had the following line, which stuck out to me:
"As co-artistic director of the [sic] The Mad Ones, Lila co-authors and directs ensemble-created work, including productions of Mrs. Murray's Menagerie and Miles For Mary, which she is also developing for television"
I did a quick Google search and couldn't find announcement to that effect. Anyone have any insight into this? Also, I find the syntax a little confusing. I assume she's not developing BOTH of them for TV, is she? I assumed she was referring to Miles For Mary since it's the one that directly precedes the TV comment.
Both of those shows were phenomenal, though I'm not quite sure how they would translate to a new medium. In any case, hope we get to see more work from The Mad Ones soon!
Like countless others, she’s simply developing one of her works as a television project. The reason why you couldn’t find any media announcement is simply… because there is none. Either one of us can choose to develop a feature film, Broadway musical, a concept album for Miley Cyrus, etc. Because she mentions it doesn’t mean a network or streaming platform will swoop it up and bring it to life.
