This was just a 15-minute presentation, basically a proof of concept. We'll see if any of it comes to fruition- and if it does, it won't be for years and there's no saying it wouldn't be something that simply tours or ends up a show at one of the theme parks.
If this ever happens, I'll be surprised how these Muppeteers deal with the schedule. Many of them are out-right divas about their work.
I actually can't imagine being stuck in the nosebleeds at the New Am watching those tiny puppets. At least with Avenue Q, the puppeteers were part of the performance.
I have a feeling the show would incorporate screens and cameras

Someone in a Tree - you realise they can redesign them for stage right? You know that in 'The Little Mermaid' the actors were not animated?
This would have to be very, very, very funny--One Man, Two Guvnors funny--to work. It's fine if it's mostly a revue...it would just have to be a really exceptional Muppet Show episode to justify itself and its enormous cost.
As for seeing puppeteers...I've heard Henson puppeteers discuss how children have never had a problem with seeing both the puppeteer and the puppet acting together, in person. It's often adults who worry that it will shatter something for the child, or who fail to take that leap.
"you realise they can redesign them for stage right?"
To an extent, sure. But the essence of any Muppet is the human hand inside the puppet's head. Hands don't change size at will. Hence Kermit's head can't much either.

I don't imagine the concept working, but if it does, why not something like a revival of BABES IN ARMS starring the Muppets?
Anybody hear any updates on this? I remember hearing that it would go into a Jumacjin Theatre but I can't really see any of them opening up any time soon.
