Just wanted to give a shout out to my girl, Jasmine, whom William Morris is apparantly showing interest in. It's almost certain that they are getting her an interview for The Color Purple!! Woohoo!! :)
Send good thoughts, she NEEDS to make it!

yeah good luck to her!
Wow, thanks Emo! Over 100 views and only one response...
LOL maybe I should've made this into a prayer thread! LOL
Just kidding - anyway, good vibes to all of your friends out there and I'll keep you updated on mine! :)

To look at her, she reminds me of a young Phylicia Rashad.
Congrats to her!

Wish I could see her picture, but it is just a little red x.
I added her to my fan photos, maybe you can see the picture that way. This girl has got SO many looks anyway, this is just one of them LOL
Her audition is tomorrow morning!!! They want her to read for the role of Nettie(?)... I think that's Oprah's characters sister, right? I have to rent this movie!
SOOOOOO EXCITED! :)
Nettie is Celie's(LaChanze) sister which was played by Saycon in hotlanta.
Oh how cool would that be to play LaChaze's sister!!!
The two roles my friend has under belt so far are Ti Moune and Sarah(understudy) in Ragtime national tour...

aww that's great! i wish her tons of luck (i bet she doesn't need it)!
waiting, waiting, waiting... LOL She's there right now. I can't stand it! I'll let you know how the interview went once she calls me.
Yeah! Tell her congrats!
I wonder, with "Saycon's" part in Color Purple being auditioned for, if this means she's stepping up to be Elphie in Wicked instead?
OK, so they told the person who arranged her audition that they weren't going to call her back for that particular role, but possibly another - they liked her audition a lot (she sang Daddys Son from Ragtime) but didn't think she was entirely age appropriate for the part, or something like that... she is going to find out more later.

still, that's good.
Yeah, I'm glad it went well...it was good for her to just be seen by people in general cause I think it's been way over a year since she's even audiioned for anything!

Showbiz is a tough business, but I wish her all the best! (It's great to have talented friends.)
Thanks eslgr8 - I think she felt really good about it. She was saying how she walked in feeling really cute until she saw all the other girls there that looked JUST like her, only 20 pounds thinner... she blocked them out but, yeah, it's tough.
This has totally happened to me for 2 B'way shows. Stuck in callbacks for ages. At the end of the day, all you can do is prepare as much as possible and do your thing. There are TOO many factors that are out of your control- your look, age, weight, height, etc. etc. etc.
But, getting seen by these people can always lead to something else.
Best of luck to your friend!
