When are we going to see the rest of the cast? They start filming in February, right? (Or March?)
And the holidays are coming up.
I WANT IT NOW!!!
I'm not having the best day, and not five minutes ago, I thought, "I know what would make it better: The Les Mis movie musical. Oh. Wait. It's not made yet. Damn." I'm so excited! And even if it's not good, I'll probably still see it a dozen times.

I can't wait to buy the soundtrack.
p.s. Will there be a cast recording as well?
Like I said... And it starts... First it was February, now they are saying March... Next it will be, "The movie version of the musical LES MISERABLES will start filming in December of 2015..."

It's been March for a while - Hugh mentioned March way back in July when he was at Comic Con. January and February are rehearsals.

Someone brings up Lindsay Lohan..I think this would be the perfect comeback film for her. She could play essentially any role. She's recorded 2 albums, sang some in Prairie House Companion, and showed her amazing versatility in Freaky Friday. Not to mention the ChaChing she'd bring to what this movie really needs!
I've never heard her sing, but I do like her as an actress.

Wonder who'll play Cosette? Emmy Rossum?
Heck, I'm still wondering who'll play Marius and Enjolras! We haven't heard a single name attached to those roles yet, even in rumors. Still really hoping they get Ramin Karimloo for Enjolras, but they might be going for bigger marquee names...
I wonder if Matthew Goode can sing. He's not a star, but he's certainly a recognizable face, has had a couple of high-profile roles, and would make a wonderful Enjolras.
I suggested this on another thread, but I'll repeat it here: Benjamin Walker for Enroljas.
Yeah, that'd be just about perfect. This movie could have used more casting ideas like that in the principles arena.

"No word yet on other key roles like Marius, Eponine, Cosette and Enjolras, though as previously reported, Hooper is said to be looking for significantly younger actors to play the roles, rather than people in their 20s."
p.s. I think Carly Rose Sonenclar is perfect to play Eponine.

So, he's going the route Burton went in "Todd" and casting actors more age-appropriate to their characters than is often done onstage. That's encouraging.

I am curious to see who will be cast for the Thénardiers.
Robert Downey Jr.s name was thrown around in casting discussions but I am not sure for what part.....he is beautiful, but I think he would be great in the role of Thénardier. He's got the dramatic chops and we have all seen him do Chaplin, so we know he can do physical comedy. He is a master at accents and character roles and has a dirty bari/tenor voice with history in song and dance. I think it woyld be fun......am I totally off base? Any one else see this?

The latest rumor is Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham-Carter for the Thenardiers.

Yeah have to admit, Geoffrey Rush would be great too. He certainly looks the part. Can he sing?
Robert Downey Jr. would never do a role that's not one of the two principals. He's also the kind of actor that's booked over a year in advanced. There's no way whatsoever that he'll be involved in this.
I really wanted Marion Cotillard for Fantine, but they clearly went younger. Hathaway is a good actress, I'm just getting tired of her peppy somewhat artificial persona and ONE DAY was the embarrassment of her career (let's hope she doesn't try to go for a British accent on this movie). I doubt I could buy her as a sick prostitute, and yes I have seen (and was impressed by) RACHEL GETTING MARRIED.

I can't imagine Cotillard singing "I Dreamed a Dream." To be fair, all I know of her voice is her singing in "Nine," but I found it so flat (as in uninspired) and breathy.
While I'm sure Rush & Bonham Carter would be terrific, I'd really love to see Hugh Laurie and Kathy Bates as the Thenardiers.
