Magics heading to Spamalot!

We sat dead center row C 106 for Christmas show. I wish no body says anything but, I do recall the last week or so of the Chicago showing may not have what everyone who has replied is hoping for.
If it does happen, Great!!!
As for your seating you are going to be happy (Big grin!) to see them up close... but there are some acts that are just too difficult to watch due to their complexity… signs, stage props (clouds also), dancers and various other things. I found even row C a bit close but nothing to complain much about.
The show has its busy moments, so nobody could actually see every detail without being there again.
Enjoy it with an open mind... let the play carry you away not your expectations.

Thank you for the smart advice. I was completely thrilled just to be seeing the show in the first place, and even if absolutely nothing happens I will still be completely stoked just to be seeing this surely-amazing show , in addition to witnessing the magic of Hank Azaria and Tim Curry in person.
You're right, and I shouldn't get too carried away until it actually happens.
Thanks for bringing me back down to earth a little.
Hehe. But seriously, kids, what should I wear?

Well, our Christmas was dressed up... but at 18 degrees and a light snow did not stop us. I did see a few that were as dressed but the majority was stock Chicago attire. Be your self, but be comfortable. It was warm in the theatre.

Sweet. Then I should be alright. I'm always overdressed when I see the touring shows that come through Wharton, because there are a lot of college kids who show up in jeans. I just want to stand there and hand out "correct theatre etiquette" pamphlets most of the time.
and I just need to add......whee! Although I have a feeling I will be spending FAR too much money on souveniers afterward.

There are't any yet that I know of...
Ahh, Hank Azaria. Mystery Men rocked because of him.
ANYWAYS. I am now plotting to get seat A-101 for August!

I bought my stuff as I got in... The theatre opens 45 minutes before the start of the show. There was a good sized crowd that balled up around the opening. Once inside a small stand is setup to your left. Take a bee line to it... like I did. I did not look for any information, but there is a shop that is near by... you may ask the seller. My wife saw some information as she got in line, and told me about it, as we sat down. By the way there was no magazine made for the early shows... There may be one for the later and Broadway debute (I overheard the salesperson talk about it).

Like gwarbaby said, there's a shop next door that has Spamalot merchandise - that's where I got my windowcard after the show because the stand inside the theatre was such a zoo. I think the shop next door might offer more stuff, too, and it's a little bit more sane in there - you can look at stuff in cases (like the killer rabbit bunny slippers! Awww. Way too expensive for me, though), and there's more room to move around.
Magic, I don't think there are any production stills yet (I wish there were! I would make an avatar...).

Posted: 1/3/05 at 12:51pmWell the show has not even opened yet and the secret of A101 is out. I really doubt this will stay in too much longer. I found the bit a little corney, not to mention bringing the show to a dead stop right before the finale. I would not go to too much trouble to get that seat. I don't think you would catch half the visual jokes from being so close and on so far on the side.

Sorry to bump this up...
As to seat A101...well, I have that seat, for August fifth.
Does anyone know if the thing still happens? I'll be kind of disappointed if it doesn't. I mean, I practically sold my soul for the seat. A little bit.
Have fun tomorrow, Magic.

Well, if they change the A101 thing they will have to come up with a completely new ending for the show.
I think it will be like M. BUTTERFLY (Or the stage version of CHICAGO, for that matter). Some people know the "surprise", but most don't, and that's good enough.
Knowing that Rosebud is the sled doesn't make Citizen Kane any less enjoyable. (Oops - did I just ruin it???)
