re: major broadway announcement

That is nowhere near as exciting as Wildcat and I playing it in Detroit. That was a smash the likes of which that city has never seen before nor since.

I was unaware that I was making fun of Texas - I sincerely believe that if the Bush twins do a revival of SideShow, it will sell very well in Texas.

Rath - that gave new meaning to the phrase Motor City.

re: major broadway announcement

I wasn't suggesting that IRex had anything to do himself with the kiddo down in Odessa. Every time I see "announcement" and "Texas" in the same sentence on this board, that's all I can think of. haha. Poor kid.

re: major broadway announcement

I gotta back up Chichi here. Y'all are one of the most hostile boards I've ever visited. No welcomes, just slams for the newbies and the general attitude that anyone below "Legend" is an ignoramus. Some of us are still swings and not posting here day and night because we have lives and - prepare yourselves - other interests besides theater.

re: major broadway announcement

Yes boi - I wonder where he is now.

You know another misnomer here is the thread title itself. "Major Broadway Announcement" makes it seem like someone was announcing something. Maybe a better way of phrasing would have been "Has anyone heard of...a major broadway announcment".

Just a helpful tip for our newbie. Whoever he may be.

he says he from San Antonio. sounds like something someone in Odessa would say!

Again, TimeSuckage (perhaps my favorite username ever!), we are going on past experience here. Not just jumping on a newbie for the sheer joy of it.

re: major broadway announcement

I've never had a particularly harsh reaction from this board. Of course, it could because I'm a major bitch and give as good as I get. Either way.

The last I heard of him, actually, was on a message board (credible source, indeed) that after his little high profile mishap producers came after him to work in their offices and he moved to New York. True or not? Who knows.

re: major broadway announcement

Wrong, Kitz.

It's because you're hot.

I continue to be amazed at the sarcasm and the inability of some of you to not trust what people say. In addition to the paranoia by some members of this board, they continue to sound like they have some major egos to deal with in themselves. Imagine that - big egos.

I wish everyone here would weigh in on where they were born, and we would find many small towns and cities througout this country, even those that push themselves as "big city" know-it-alls.

re: major broadway announcement

Wichita, KS and I hate just about everything about it.

However, you don't have to be from "the big city" to be knowledgable about theater and what happens in NYC. I probably know more about Broadway than many people who live in New York.

And about the sarcasm--if anyone says anything that seems stupid or completely off the wall, they're being sarcastic. The constant sarcasm is probably my favorite thing about this board.

And of course we have big egos. We do theatre, don't we? re: major broadway announcement

re: major broadway announcement

I am from a very small town. However, I have lived and worked in NYC for 17 years. And many of those years have been spent in "the business." You can check my profile for a more detailed description of that.

And yeah, some of us get our egos stroked here, but we almost all get equally harassed and dumped on as well. Believe me, it all balances out.

Thanks for the compliment on my user name, Rathnait62. One of the nicer things anyone has said to me on these boards! Or are you just trying to prove me wrong :)

re: major broadway announcement

Oh sorry. I guess I wasnt clear. I was talking about the kid who directs and produces the shows in Odessa. I cant believe that his name escapes me now, but you know who i'm talking about.

re: major broadway announcement

Tony Georges.

And TimeSuckage, I am completely sincere in that compliment. Every time I see your name, I giggle.

You're right. We are the types to be out there in front, and egos no - doubt, my comments were tongue-in-cheek.
