sondheim is famous cause he combines the old with the new, his lyrics are impressively deep and mature....his music is meant to emphasize emotions and deep, important questions about the human conditions

schwartz is famous cause he's obsessed (in the good way) with interesting harmonic combinations and cool new rythms...his lyrics are simpler, but more universal, his music not necesarily more complex than sondheims. his word choice is more elaborate (in general), and i think both have very interesting but very different rhyming schemes.

in other words, u cant compare the two dear.
but if it means anything, they're two favorite composers...after george gershwin. and my favorite lyricists, for sure.


aaaa but i would really like to hear these songs. im tempted to email shwartz himself for the sheet music, wonder if he'd sell it?

somebody let me know if they have access to more songs bsides making good.
