Is there a difference between songs that get a good hand and songs that actually stop a show?
'Cause I think all but one or two of the songs mentioned thus far are the former.

Posted: 7/24/13 at 12:48pmA showstopper is a number that evokes such a response from the audience that it causes some sort of delay in what would otherwise happen next on stage. In extreme examples, an audience's responds so enthusiastically that the performer breaks character for a moment and acknowledges them. Andrea Martin is stopping Pippin on a nightly basis.
