Very cute. Good clips of productions all over the world, as well as great banter between Joe Machota and Tina Maddigan. They still have great chemistry.

This 5th anniversary edition includes a booklet with cast photographs, three bonus tracks ("Mamma Mia," "Dancing Queen," and "Waterloo"), and a bonus DVD featuring interviews, opening night footage, and show clips.
Product Description:
To commemorate MAMMA MIA’s 5th anniversary on Broadway, Decca Broadway is releasing a limited edition CD + DVD package on October 17. The CD package includes a booklet with cast photographs, the music from the best-selling Original Cast album, plus 3 finale bonus tracks: "Mamma Mia", "Dancing Queen" and "Waterloo". The bonus DVD includes exclusive interviews, opening night footage, show clips from around the world and more!
Put together by Abba's own Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, Mamma Mia! manages to cram over 20 of the Swedish supergroup's songs into a threadbare plot. It goes a little like this: Young Sophie is getting married and she's trying to identify which of three men is her father. That's about it. Wisely, the musical doesn't mess around with the songs, save for the insertion of some dialogue or for having some of them performed by a man (it works amazingly well). Abba fans will jump on this import of the London production, but traditional fans of musical theater should consider it as well. After all, Andersson and Ulvaeus's songs have always felt as if they were more than isolated pop gems and actually belonged to a longer narrative.

They came out with a 5th Anniversary CD/DVD....the remastering of the London cast album with 3 bonus tracks plus a behind-the-scenes DVD hosted by Tina and Joe. It has many clips from the show itself, just not the Broadway cast.
Had I not gotten it after making an exchange at Barnes and Noble, I'd be disappointed by the content.
It's good for the diehard fan, though.

Are the finale bonus tracks what they play during Mamma Mia after the bows? If so, do they incorporate Mamma Mia and Dancing Queen into the show, then later use them for the finale?
Or are these just ABBA bonus tracks?

I'm not sure what you're asking, but Mamma Mia and Dancing Queen are both in the actual show.
It's only been playing for 5 years? Ha. It seems like it's been playing for forever.

Posted: 10/18/06 at 1:44amOkay...then what songs are in the finale at the end? I heard that there were about 3 songs that they play at the end, and everyone can get up and dance. Is one of them Waterloo? Or are those 3 bonus songs really ABBA?

Is this going to be sold in stores (or via Amazon, etc)? I'd love to purchase a copy myself.
PS - Heard there's a new Mamma Mia book coming out that combines Abba and the musical

There's a bonus DVD with the CD.
The Mamma Mia! coffee table book is also out. Check Barnes and Noble.

The DVD running time is 20 minutes give or take.
And the book is miserable.

Posted: 10/19/06 at 9:01pmI totally disagree about the book. It's one of the most exciting "coffee table" books I've ever read/looked at the pictures.

Just finished watching this newly released 5th Anniversary CD/DVD. One word: WOW!
The DVD on this release actually blows AWAY the recently released 10th Anniversary CHICAGO's DVD in every aspect, from content to style to...just everything.
Watching Tina and Joe return to the Cadillac Winter Garden Theatre thru the stagedoor brought on the tears. They could have spent a whole hour just talking about anything -- their chemistry is electric and genuine. The footage shown throughout the featurette is fABBAulous (sorry, had to), especially seeing Frida and Agnetha back together with the men.
Also, the footage of Tina and Joe reminiscing on the BONUS CLIPS section is priceless. Priceless. The FULL performance clips of the London Cast doing "Money Money Money" and "Dancing Queen" should have been an example for the makers of that 10th Anniversary CHICAGO CD/DVD set which gave us that pathetically edited montage of foreign productions of CHICAGO which ran a full 4 minutes of nothing.
NOTE: I had no idea Michael Riedel was a fan of the show. Another WOW!
