Ok, don't all panic and hold the sarcastic comments please
. I heard that Mandy Moore was going to take on the role of Elphaba when Idina leaves Wicked in January (or take over sometime after). So, I thought that this was true, so I ofcourse checked online and I found no information. I thought it wasn't a bad idea...you never know, right? :)

Out of sheer curiousity, where did you hear this?
If you can't prove it with a written source, I'd believe it's a sham...that or your trying to get another rumor started...

i have no idea if its true or not
but a word of advice...some people tend to get a little annoyed when people only post in relation to Wicked and Brooklyn...thats 2 threads that you have started today about Wicked. Just try to tone down on that and post stuff about other shows!
but im also curious...uve been a BWW member for over a year and you're still a swing?!?! thats really strange!
(and i mean this post with all the love and respect that should be directed toward others)

My brother said the same thing about Mandy, although it was quite a while ago. When I asked where he heard it, he said MTV. However, due to the lack of info since, I'm betting it was not true.
Ang hoping...

Posted: 11/28/04 at 10:45amWhy is everyone freaking out so bad? I love pop music as much as I love showtunes, so I don't get why everyone has to hate Mandy Moore. Anyway, I'm a huge fan of hers and she has an amazing voice, and she WAS offered the role of G(a)alina, but she turned it down because she DIDN'T think she was good enough. She has a theatre backround, and if you saw her on Best of Broadway on Bravo, you know she can sing the heck out of showtunes better than half the people on Broadway now. She gave an amazing performance, and I really do hope she comes to Broadway soon. Out of all the pop stars, she has the most vocal talent and seems the sweetest and most down to earth. Ok sorry for the rant, I just have to defend my girl Mandy =) But don't worry, she won't be in Wicked anytime soon.

wow EverythingisRent...
you should be ashamed or yourself. How can you have such a great show in your username and have the great Idina Menzel as your icon... and be defending Mandy Moore??? Kindof an oxymoron don't you think??
(I'm not serious so if everyone could hold off on the "everyone is entitled to their own opinion lecture" that would be great, thanks)

Posted: 11/28/04 at 11:46amWe discussed this FOREVER ago, except she was being considered an option for Glinda. Girl has a pretty voice, but she can't really sing. Blah.

Paradox error-
I'm aware that I've posted two threads....I'm excited. Guess what buddy.........this is a MESSAGE BOARD. I appreicate it just as much as the next person...........so if you don't care to read my post.....don't. As for talking about other shows on here....I have better things to to with my time...which answers your concern for my being a "SWING." I have better things to do than argue with someone I don't even know...how pathetic.
Whatever
Goodbye

WhenIgetmynameinlights....I salute you! :) That made me smile.
and I, too, heard that Mandy was offered Glinda but turned it down because she didn't think she was good enough, so I doubt she'd then decide to play a much more challenging part and take on Elphaba. Mandy has a really pretty voice, but it's not powerful enough to Defy Gravity (and she's not a belter, as evidenced by the Bravo thing with Adam Pascal....However, in her credit, I was impressed during her appearance on the Bravo thing when she knew who Adam was and said she was a huge fan of Rent. I'm sure she'll hit Broadway at some point, but at least then it will be because she loves doing musicals and not for some publicity scheme!:)

you know what bothers me? when people tear apart other people for starting messages on a message board...and yes i know what your reply will be.."but theres so much post on wicked" "use the search engine" or simply "shutup"...well there are so many post on wicked because wicked is probley the biggest most gossiped musical out there...and people dont use the search engine becuase first off when u get a question and your computer sucks you want to get it out there before you forget..you DO NOT have to respond if youve alreday answerd there questions on a differnet post...let someone who didnt answer...thanks bye :)
P.S maybe someone is a swing after a year becuase they dont spend every moment of there valued life posting, check once in a while and see a valued comment they would like to post to

Posted: 11/28/04 at 1:18pmthe funny thing is when I read this the first thing that came to my mind was "can Mandy Moore sing?" I totally forgot that she started out as a singer! And on a Wicked note didn't they approach her for Glinda? I sort of think she'd be more appropriate for that role, though I guess who knows. She seems like a doll to me!

Well you know what? TAKE THE 3 SECONDS IT TAKES TO TYPE OUT MANDY MOORE AS ELPHABA. This has been talked about SO many times. I'm on the verge of leaving BWW forever because it's the same five freaking posts all the time. And I'm sorry your computer sucks, but when you are going to ask about something like this, however stupid it may be because there is no way in you know where that Mandy Moore can handle this role, use the search function. You won't get yelled at for making the same stupid post that everyone and their Aunt Myrtle makes EVERY SINGLE DAY.
I'm done, I'm really sorry. I just can't handle this anymore.
