No, our first ever revival of Evita is going to open with the vocally inept Elena Roger.

Like how our first revival of A Little Night Music opened with the large ham Catherine Zeta-Jones?
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad

No. I saw the first cast in March. I haven't made it back to see Peters and Stritch.

Do the vocally inept Elena Roger and the vocally inept Douglas Hodge go to the same school for vocally inept Olivier winners?

What does one have to do with the other?

Eva Peron is quite a different role than Albin. You can get away with a bad singer as Albin, not Eva Peron. Those vocals on the London cast recording are painful and unlistenable. And since when did awards become the be all and end all?

You're commenting that the first revival of a landmark musical is being headed by someone you deem inept. I'm commenting that a first revival of another landmark musical was headed by someone I deem inept.

I know Elena is opening with the show but I'm trying not to believe it. I've listened to the recording and seen videos and I can't stand her. There are so many good American Actresses that would kill the role.
