Hi All!

Does anyone know if there are still tickets available for Manoel Felciano's Sep 25 Joe's Pub performance? Will anyone from Sweeney be making a guest appearance?

I saw the review in New York magazine and wanted to check it out.

Manoel Felciano rocks. Don't miss him!

Would you recommend? Yes

Manoel Felciano (note spelling) is one of the most engaging performers I've ever seen. I first noticed him in Sweeney Todd--his gorgeous voice was goosebump inducing, and I immediately wanted to hear more. Lucky for me, just weeks after I saw Sweeney, Manoel performed his first gig at Joe's Pub on May 7. His eclectic covers, from Randy Newman and Steely Dan to the Police and U2, showcased his incredible vocal range. His original songs were a nice surprise too. Catchy, fun, heartfelt, and moving, he shows real promise as a songwriter, stretching genres and styles from the ska-ish "Don't Feed the Beast" to a sweet little ditty called "Faux Pas" that had the audience both giggling and swooning. Have I mentioned his prowess on violin, guitar, bass, mandolin, and more? Or that he has a ton of talented friends who join him onstage for jaw-dropping duets? Or that his banter between songs is hilarious? It's impossible to sum up Manoel's appeal in 200 words. But I will say that besides his immense musical talent, he's got a magnetic charm that is completely irresistible.

I hope he's giving free tickets to whomever posted that ass kissing review. Goosebump inducing? Prowess? Jaw dropping?

I really, really find the "note spelling" thing obnoxious.
If it's such a sticking point for him then let him address it to to the editors or let him hire a real publicist. That sort of snotty crap coming from someone who doesn't represent him bugs me.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Manoel's Playbill bio says something along the lines of "www.felciano.com (note spelling)."

And just in case anyone jumps to conclusions for defending a possible reason, no I didn't write it lol. I haven't even seen that article. Updated On: 9/21/06 at 08:38 PM
