"I'm learning to dig deep down inside and find the truth within myself and put that out. I think what we identify with in popular music more than anything else is when someone just shares a truth that we can relate to. That's what I'm searching for in my music." - Ron Bohmer

Jim - I'm sorry we didn't meet. You were VERY busy that night working your little butt off! I know you saw me, though. During the second show, I was seated right next to the camera. You were just on the other side of the camera. At one point, there was some joke and we looked at each other and laughed for some reason. I don't remember why...
Are you keeping all those auction promises? I remember you should have some very interesting evenings in the pit this week.

Mister Matt - As you know, the seat next to me on the podium in the orchestra pit was up for auction. It turned out to be a very hot item. The guy who won the bidding for last night's show sat with me and had a blast. It was fun having someone sit there and watch their reactions. I have a different person sitting with me every show this week and someone is sitting with my associate conductor at one of this weekend matinees. Total, that seat alone raised over $3000. Isn't that amazing?
Also, I got a new tally this morning. We are close to having raised $16,000 now!!!
The tally grows, BRAVO! And Jim they have just added a Junior America Show on the schedule for SF in May, keep that seat open, I'm coming! Where do I send the check?
You are correct, and to be honest I've grown to love it and be inspired that so many of the applicants show true promise and have a real passion to make a difference in the world. I just wish they would change the shiny blue background!
As the host, I'm sure you have a little "pull". Why don't you draw up a proposal of something better? That way, "those" people won't have to think of how to make it better. You will have done it for them. Perhaps that's why it hasn't changed. The C pageant needs your creative input!!!
I gotta go conduct a matinee. Later.

Count your blessings, Eddie. It could be a B list motel. Actually, it sounds quite fun. You should keep a diary. I think it would make for a fascinating book.

I am happy and lucky to have any creative work and know what a blessing it is to perform in front of anyone. You know someone the other night said they'd love to do a documentary on it, but getting back to the post topic, what a great choice of songs, Mister Matt it must of been wonderful to hear live versions of them, most of all the South Park stuff, I still think Robin Williams singing "Blame Canada" at the Oscars a few years back should of gotten the Tony!
The live version of The Dreidel Song was one of the most memorable performances I've ever seen and heard. It was brilliantly sung, the arrangement was fantastic, and simply hilarious. I just wanted it to be longer. I can't wait for the DVD. I'll probably watch that song, Black Don't Crack, and Miss Otis Regrets the most. Those girls were great! And I just love Joanna Glushak. I hope to see more of her in the future.

Mister Matt - I agree. Joanna Glushak rocks. She's an incredible singer, actress and dancer. TRUE LIVING TRIPLE THREAT INDEED.....She's been in the B-way companies of Urinetown, Sweet Smell Of Success, Conversations With My Father, Les Miserables, Rags and Sunday In The Park With George. She's also a graduate of Yale. The best part is that she's really cool person too. I can't wait to go back to the theatre for tonight's show and tell her what you said.
Thanks BG2. Let it be known not only did Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman put on a great show, they also flew themselves to Chicago and purchased a few live auction items, spending thousands of their own dollars. - - - They bought the "walk on roll" for $2000 and then donated it to a volunteer. They also bought an original piece of art painted especially for the benefit auction. It was a painting of Charlotte Crossley (our MotorMouth Mabel) and then gave it to her as a present. How cool is that?
The question that I wanted answered is whether Mr. Shaiman will be wearing his merkin when he performs. I prefer him "au natural" but you know those Broadway egos.
At the benefit, 7 people bidded and won the seat next the conductor. So far this week, three people have sat next to me. It is soooooooo much fun having these people next to me. I can't explain what it's like to watch them. They are in "awe" of the vantage point and the show just sucks them in. It's so cool.
