How was Mara Davi?

I liked Parcells a lot. She brought a refreshing spontaneity to her line readings as Judy.

Davi has a lovely voice, though I thought it was a tad smallish and reedy at times. I think "At The Ballet" went well, but it would land even better with a Maggie with a stronger belt.

This thread makes me happy... I'm so excited to see it!!!

Does anyone know what the best time to get there for cancellation tickets would be? Are people lining up early? If I am willing to pay full price but want to snag a GOOD orchestra seat, when should I go?

It's the untold story of the backstage drama that surrounded URBAN COWBOY.

I agree with most of Margo's post, especially about the dancing not seeming to push any of them.

I disagree about Tam and D'Amboise - Paul's monologue was flat and seemed to go on forever. I didn't feel a thing for him. Same with D'Amboise - she's great when she's dancing, but once she opens her mouth to speak or sing, all character and sense of natural-ness is lost. The only time I felt a thing for her was during the last part of the audition where Zach is berating her as she's trying to dance.

Alisan Porter was a standout to me - good voice, good actor, good dancer, with something special and compelling. I loved watching her. Typewise, she could be difficult to cast down the road, but there is something wonderful and exciting about the possibilities.

Margo, was there a specific reason you didn't mention Porter or was she simply forgettable? And as good a dancer as D'Amboise is, I've never thought there was much more.

I liked Porter's performance a lot. She and a few others (McGill, Paternostro, Takara) were quite good and the only reason I didn't mention them was due to time pressure -- I had less than 30 minutes to dash off that initial post.
