I was there tonight, and it was worth every penny. I was blown away by her performance. I wish I had more to say, but it was just incredible.
At the end of the show, Maria told us that someone from her hometown was in the audience and pointed him out to all of us: John Doyle.
what date does her show run until?
It runs till June 3. I am going tonight! I am so excited!!!

All_For_Laura you have to tell me all about it. I want a review!
I just made a reservation - they said there is a $37 food minimum...I know this has been discussed, but can anyone confirm that this is or is not the case?

This is the case. At least when I went we had to order food. The food is fabulous there though.
Thanks for your response!
I can't wait.
The food at the Carlyle is great - its just very expensive. I had coffee and a desert and I think it was over twenty dollars.
Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the show - have fun!

I absolutely loved the show. Maria is so nice and has so much talent.
And NO there is no food/drink minimum, unless they added on in just the last week. You don't have to order anything. For some engagements at the Carlyle there is a food/drink minimum, but not Maria Friedman's show. Of course they encourage you to order off the menu, but its not required.
I saw the show tonight and absolutely loved it. Everything about Maria is perfection. I also loved the Carlyle (it was my first time there) the intimate setting was perfect for this kind of concert. Bravo also to her pianist and cellest. They were fabulous considering the difficulty of Sondheim. But Maria, wow. The show was just the right length and her song choices were superb.
Go and see the show. It's worth it. My friends and I only ordered drinks and that was fine. Go see MARIA!
