Doesn't Marin Mazzie seem a bit straight laced for this? Lily is a hysterical role- is she cut out for the humor?
And who will play Mrs. Primrose?

Joekv99, did see have the opportunity to see Marin in "Kiss Me Kate"? She was an absolute riot with incredible comic timing. I think her casting is absolutely ideal.
I would also love to see Encores! revive "Kismet" so she can give us a deliciously bawdy performance as Lalume.

I think Marin can pull this off,
more worried that Sills is way too young.
Siebert is perfect and Oscar and Ashmanskas will be hysterical.
How 'bout Andrea Martin as Mrs. Primrose?

Posted: 8/2/05 at 3:24pmI've always thought that Charlotte Rae would make a great Letitia.

Posted: 8/2/05 at 3:29pmthere's a similar concert coming up in the Boston area, no?!?!?

Posted: 8/2/05 at 3:29pmIs Charlotte Rae still performing? She's gotta be close to 80, but Tony Randall was still doing Damn Yankees when he was about that age.

Sills is not way too young. Just caught up with him this past weekend at Wildhorn's "Moon". Still charming and handsome, but growing a little more "distinguished" since his Percy days.
And Marin can show a comical side that would surprise many. She and Jason Danielley are pure class and funny together. Nice cast.

Posted: 8/2/05 at 4:06pmFrom what I've heard Charlotte's in a sort of semi-retirement, she does a few projects here and there but mostly spends time with her family and as a proud grandmother.
