Just curious to see if anyone has met her, and how she was when they met her. From the majority of the posts I've read about her, she doesn't seem to be the nicest person to meet... stage door or anywhere.
Your thoughts please, I'm just an outsider looking in

I met her back in December '02. Couldn't have been nicer.
By the way, korenglish, we saw Piazza the same night. I remember you getting your picture taken with two different cameras. Was it you who asked Victoria Clark about NYU? I can't remember.

I met her back in July at the stage door and she was sweet! Took pictures with everyone, signed for everyone, and hung around for awhile. Very, very sweet.
i've met her twice, once when hairspray first opened then again this past july. on both times she couldn't have been nicer. she signed for everyone, took pictures, ect.
Very sweet when I met her at the Hairspray stagedoor back during her first run with the show
She seemed to be a little bit of a diva on the Broadway.com backstage video, but hey, I guess she's earned it.
I've meet her several times and she's always been really nice. She usally spends at least a half hour taking pictures and signing making sure she got to everyone before she left.
I met her in McDonalds, hahaha. She was using the ATM and C is for Company noticed that it was her and then we called her name and she was really nice and talked to us and it was right after we saw piazza and she was talking to us about it. Really nice grl. That same day we saw Deborah S. Craig, who is in spelling bee which we were to see later, use the same atm as marisa and after spelling bee we talked to her and she said that the actors union atm is in mcdonalds and how glamourous their lives are.

The organization I am part of annually invites the cast of a new musical to be part of a gala event. When we invited Hairspray, MJW did not attend and got Shashona Bean. When our organization was invited to see Hairspray, we got a tour and some of the cast members, including Harvey came out to say hi, and MJW refused to come out. We came to the conclusion that she's a diva. She seems nice, as I've seen her in videos and backstage tours.
Got her autograph the first time I saw her in Hairspray. She was very sweet and accomodating.

TheQuibbler... Hey! It was me who took pictures with two cameras and we did ask about NYU to Victoria Clark. Sorry if that bothered anyone that night, I got one with a digital and one that I could print and eventually make an 8 by 10 to hang up in my room. Are you going on the 28th or January 1st?
Let me know,

I didnt sense that she was a diva on that video. I thought she was hilarious and she seems really nice.
ive met her many times and shes always been really nice. she even talked to one of my friends on my cell phone. if you go to her blog, she posted a picture of herself on a cell phone and well its my phone. =]
She was a doll when I met her. Signed my poster and took a picture. She was very sweet to everyone around me and it was apparent she was exhausted.
lol...Crazy4Matt..."And that's me on the other end of your cell phone in the picture of Marissa talking to me on your cell phone!!" Haha. I think it's funny that her bro took a picture of it. Anywho, Marissa is really sweet, and hilarious. I don't think she's really a diva, however, for those who think she is--she deserves it IMO.
Why is it okay for her to be a diva? If ya wanna know "what makes a diva" ask Sheryl Lee Ralph! She has one major Broadway credit under her belt as I don't think GREASE really counts. So how has she earned the right to be a diva? I can give you a long list of performers who have earned that right and often times truly are but I can guarantee her name wouldn't even make the top 100.
By the way, I went to school with her and she was a funny chick but I didn't know her well at all.
She's great in the sack
She was really nice and especially glamorous at the party following the MACK AND MABEL benefit performance at the LINCOLN CENTER a couple of year back. She was great at the performance too!
When I met Marissa she tried to gut me with a shiv.
I found that unnecessary.
Diva.
I met her a few times. The first time on the street and I just said "Hi Marissa" and she was really sweet and very very bubbly.
I also met her at the Drama Desk nominations the year Hairspray was nominated.
She and Kerry Butler were very sweet.

Someone on this board has this quote of MJW I didn't like... I think it was something about Kelli O'Hara when she saw Piazza.
For the record, I thought on the broadway.com video she was honest and freakin' hilarious. I just thought that she seemed like a doll.
I have never met her in person, but from everything I hear, and the little I have seen, she seems like a sweetie pie.

She took care of my grandmother when she was sick. My grandmother was sick, not Marisa.
