WRONG, coolkid.

Guess what!! I went to a magical site called google. All I typed was:

Marissa Hairspray Return

I had pages of answers!

Hmm . . . . . what can I find if I use my keyboard and my fingers?

HAHAHAHA

As the resident newbie to the boards, I don't get the resentment towards coolkid. It is rather hilarious to read and i am cracking up at how patronising everyone is to him/her, but would some dear person care to explain to me why everyone seems to hate him.

Please don't attack me for asking this - I did as PRFRMR20 suggested and searched "coolkid hate", yet came up with not much.

Anyone care to enlighten me??

Well there is a whole history of where coolkid is notorious for asking about how to get discount tickets for the closing night (and only closing night) of like every show... to almost begging for Rent tickets.

But, with this, the thing that annoys me most is that he is notorious for starting threads and asking a question that he could have found out the answer on google in the same time that it took to post it here. While waiting for another BWWer to answer (amongst the criticism of his post) he could have known the answer on his own.

I would just love for coolkid to start by trying to search his questions and if he can't find the answer then ask here. It will be more fulfilling in life to have the skill of researching questions than always asking for help. It would feel rewarding to know "Hey, I had a question, took 2 minutes and was able to find the answer on my own! YAY!" However, nothing we say has changed his approach to questions and that is where people start get annoyed.

PRFRMR20.. I understand where you are coming from. Yes it probably would be quicker to just search for the answer to some questions on Google than to wait for someone here to respond...However it is there choice if they want to ask their question here.

The purpose of this broad is to allow theater fans to interact and converse with each other. While you may feel that their question is silly or that they are asking something that they easily could have searched for.. so what.. if your time is so important that you do not want to be bothered with questions that could be easily googled..then simply do reply to those threads. feel free to ignore them. Just move on to the next thread that you are interested in and join that discussion.

Also, while your time may be too valuable to waste with people on the board asking pointless questions.. it does not appear that your time is too valuable to prevent you from posting numerous times in a "silly question" thread for the purpose of being snide and nasty to the person who asked the question.

Surely the topics on this board that you care about would benefit more from your time and contributions than this.

LOL. The "let me google that for you" is hilarious.

I will totally be using that.

You are ridiculously funny, PRFRMR20.

Eponine3-It's not even that he asks those kinds of questions, it's that he asks a million times, and even makes multiple threads at the same time about them. At least that's what I find the most annoying.

Marianne2-

I completely understand that it seems to be more of a problem with the poster rather than the question itself.. However ... again.. just ignore the threads you don't like and contribute to the ones that interest you. Use your opinions and your theater knowledge to contribute something meaningful to the board rather than waste time complaining about posters silly questions and telling them how annoying they are.

Eponine3,

I agree that my contribution to "silly threads" is as meaningless as the original question. As Marianne said, I have seen time and time again where the OP has started an unbelievable amount of new threads to ask a simple question. Then after posters make fun and criticize he appears to become upset and defensive and ask why everyone is out to get him and why people are so mean. I decided to, though sternly, use this thread to try to show why posters are annoyed at him.

As you said, "The purpose of this broad is to allow theater fans to interact and converse with each other." I don't think starting a new thread to ask a FACT (a date, a person, a code...) can lead to interactions and conversations. After the question is answered, the thread should be done, hence its inappropriate posting on a message board that is primarily used to discuss opinions.

My time here may be meaningless, but unless coolkid is trying to get a rise out of people from every post, hopefully my showing how simple it is to find answers will allow him to start searching on his own, not post the factual based questions here, not get criticized and finally not wonder and feel bad about people being mean.
