I'm bringing my niece to NY for her Christmas present and we're seeing "Millie" on 12/28. It would be nice if she could get Sutton's autograph on her Playbill after the show that afternoon. I've seen TMM a couple of times but I haven't a clue where the stage door might be. Can anyone help?

Sure, if you are facing the front of the Marriott Marquis, it is around the corner to the left (next to the Broadway New York Store). Have fun!

Mamie- Yeah its right there there is a big pillar thing with a Millie poster on it too...And it says Stage Door on the door..you will be fine

Also, are you seeing the evening or matinee? Sutton does not always come out after the matinee. In that case your best bet would be to go to the stage door about an hour and a half before the show starts. If it is a day with only an evening and want to meet her before, again go like an hour and a half early. If you are seeing the evening and want to see her after she usually leaves very fast (but will talk to the fans that are at the stage door because shes unbelievably sweet) that you should leave the theatre AS SOON as the curtain call ends so you can meet her!

Good Luck! I hope that helped and I just didnt ramble...
Happy Holidays!

As far as I know, Sutton often uses a different exit door all together, so I think your best bet would be to try and catch her before hand. re: re: re: re: re: Marquis Stage Door?

yeah, she doesn't always come out of the main stage door and i have no clue where the other one is. that place is huge. if you can, write to her and tell you the situation, maybe you'll luck out.
so why does sutton use this other door nowadays? if she's so great with fans (jk) i took my cousin to see the show (evening) and she really wanted to get sutton's autograph so we went to the stage door but she didn't come out.

She always uses the main stage door entrance. If you went to the stage door and she didn't come out, either a) she's still inside or b) she got out before you.

umm, sorry but that's not completely true. I know people that work there, and Sutton does not always use the stage door.
She does come in that way, but does use a different exit every now and then.

TheaterBaby, I too have friends that work there, and of the numerous times I have been there, she has always come out of that door, and from what I understand she uses that door always. It's easier to miss her than you think. I've been there on nights where she bolted otu quickly because she wasn't feelign well, nights where she knew ahead of time she'd have to spend a LONG time at the stage door because of mobs, and nights where she had to be somewhere right after the show was over, and not one of these times did she used a different entrance.

Bronte, usually, when she runs out really quick still wearing her makeup in everything, she's exhausted or really feeling crappy and she just wants to run home. Usually she doesn't bolt out. Ph yeah, and the other exit is through the theatre itself. There are exit doors on the side of the theatre which lead to the backstage area, she would have to exit through those and go through the theatre and exit as you normally would if seeing the show.

Actually that is not the only exit..but I don't think discussing all the exits from the theatre are exactly appropriate. If Sutton or anyone else from the show wants some privacy to exist another way then they deserve to do so. And I have to agree with Theatrebaby, I have been there when Sutton has not come out the stage door once or twice and taken another exit. Updated On: 12/2/03 at 08:28 PM

Yeah there is another exit, she used it last Friday actually.. she uses it a lot if she's sick or has to be somewhere quickly or knows there's gonna be a big crowd and doesn't have time. Actually, when I was there, she was leaving in between a matinee and evening show because she was sick, and she came down but there were lots of people waiting, so she went out the other exit. I know where it is but I think the whole point of that door is that people won't go to it, lol, so I don't think I should really mention where it is.. there are more than one, actually. There is one through the theater, and two others that don't require going through the house.

Your best bet is going before the show. Sometimes she's in a rush to get ready, but she's very sweet and will always stop and talk and if all you want is an autograph, she'll totally stop. Plus, it's so much less crowded before.. usually no one there, etc, and she never goes in another door.. only out..

There is another exit without going through the theater to exit. A friend of mine who was in another show at that theater used it when she had to be somewhere right after the show.

Yeah, that's the exit I'm talking about. There is one through the theater and two NOT through the theater.

This is a Sunday matinee show and I don't believe there is an evening performance. I'm not sure what to do. With the comments below, it might not be feasable to wait. I'll have to wait and see I guess.

Mamie - disregard everything you read above except for directions to the door - they're just confusing the matter w/ their knowledge of exits to the Marquis which really didn't need to be shared.

It's worth the wait - Sutton may use the door - she may not use the door - one can never tell. But it's worth in IMHO. I waited once (not too long)...people came out...then the guy at the door came out and announced that Sutton ahd Christian had already left. Can't do anything about it so might as well just wait.

Haha, that was all mass confusion because of me, and yay I have my real name back. Anyways, ooops, I didn't know there was another exit. Just go after the show anyway, usually she goes out that door, as long as its not between shows. That's my point. It's rare that she'll leave another way after a night show. It's worth the wait if you wanna meet her. Heck, go before and after.
