Martin Short question#1

On the tour how will they do the thing where he brings a celebrity on stage?? Are they just going to put regular people up there?

I'd be willing to bet that they will have local celebrities(people from TV,radio, sports, politics) in the Glick segment. They will probably use regular people at some performances as well.

The performance I saw was someone from the audience, a lawyer from New Jersey. He was dressed in jeans. The lawyer, NJ, and poorly dressed jokes came easily.

I am sad it is closing. It is so much fun. I went five times.
Sorry I never got to see my favorite understudy!
The funniest man on the planet(Edward Staudenmayer)Love him!
I would have killed to see Ed in those stilts as Tommy Tune.
That sketch kills me. I sat next to Tommy Tune a few years ago at the Drama Desk Awards. He is that tall! That falling bit still makes me laugh and I saw it a few weeks ago.

I went to opening night of the pre-Broadway stop in San Francisco, and the celebrity guest was Dennis Miller. Not a fan of his, but the bit was hilarious!! Miller was in town, so that's probably why they asked him to do it. I remember that in other performances, they used local city celebrities and more famous ones that just happened to be in town.

Martin Short is a comedic genius, period.

If you are a fan, watch the PBS Second City special. It has lots of great footage from SCTV, and pics of Martin in Godspell.
