We went to see Martin Short's show today - - which is quite funny, albeit a bit weird. BUT the best part was that there was a special guest in the audience - NATHAN LANE!! Nathan was pulled up on stage and spent about 20 minutes improving w/Martin Short. It was HYSTERICAL - definitely the best part of the show!
AWWWW
Than sounds like it was priceless. I adore Nathan.

Nathan was wearing a black suit?
I saw him walking through Schubert Alley (toward 44th) today while I was killing time before Faith Healer. I was sitting reading a book and happened to look up at the moment he was walking by. I noticed not one person noticed him until I saw he waved at someone in passing, who turned out to be Ian McDiarmid heading to his theater.

I was there too. What a great suprise to have Nathan there. I agree, Missy2 the show is kinda weird at parts and could stand some editing but that being said, I did laugh...loudly and alot.

I was thinking that when someone sees the show another day they need to report back here with details if they pull someone else (a non celebrity) out of the audience. There is no way anyone could be as Nathan was. The conductor and actors were all cracking up and since I was in the front row, I could see all the stagehands in the wings trying to get a better look. Funny stuff.

From someone who saw a real person as the guest (a lawyer from Jersey), there's no beating someone like Nathan Lane.
The real people are generally too shy to do anything crazy, they follow the index card they're given. I saw the show right after the Mel Gibson anti-semite thing. Jiminy asked the lawyer "If you were President Bush, would you prohibit Mel Gibson's freedom of speech?" It got an uproarious laugh from the audience, the guy sat there stone-faced.

He did talk make conversation though. I would love to see Nathan Lane in the show.
Poossible seat-wise spoiler.....
Saw a regular person pulled from the Saturday 2 PM show. They had a white "X" on the floor next to their seat. Seat "D1". We were in D113/144, 114 on the aisle (left center orch. Do the always pick that seat for guests?

It's always the 3rd or 4th row on the aisle. There's a stage manager (I'm assuming) who lets the people know that they're getting picked, prior to the show starting.
