re: Spring Awakenings Nov 26 2006, 10:04:08 PM
Geez, people on this site really don't like it when one is not enthusiastic about a particular show. It was contrived and forced. My sister walked out at the intermission but my friend and I figured we'd give it a shot. The performances were good but the story and how it was told was ridiculous. That is what we thought. And bad luck charm or whatever. There was no standing ovation except for somebody who was a relative of someone in the cast and the rest of the audience depa

Maybe I missed something (and so did the rest of the audience who seemed less than enthusiastic)....but I really just didn't like any of it. Oh well. To each his own!

Spring Awakenings Nov 26 2006, 09:38:33 PM
OMIGOD. This has got to be the WORST show I've ever seen. Saw it today. The talent is good but wasted on a horrendous script. AWFUL,AWFUL,AWFUL. I mean, really, really bad. That's my two cents (and there were hardly any people in the audience...empty mez and less than half filled orchestra).

re: IDINA MENZEL Nov 22 2006, 07:11:50 PM
Guys - I just got back from London where I sat in second row center and saw Idina do a FABULOUS job. I've seen here here in NYC, Chicago and Toronto many times and she blew it out of the park even more so in London (and I do believe she's alot more rested now as well). She was amazing.

re: Just back from first London 'Wicked' preview.......... Sep 7 2006, 11:24:42 PM
Hi. I have seen the show 14 times so far (in Chicago, Toronto, NYC) (no, I'm not a groupie, I'm actually a middle aged woman who adores the show and is lucky enough to travel often for biz)...I've seen Idina several times, Soshana (on the day it was suppose to be Idina's last), Eden, Anna, Kristy...and in November I'll be going to London on biz so I'll get to see Idina. I can't wait to see her again - she's still my favorite although I must admit..she does have some trouble w/the breathing t

re: Save DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS!! Aug 19 2006, 12:25:08 AM
I've seen it before w/the OBC and saw it tonight cause my friend is a friend of Brian Darcy James - who, by the way, was TERRIFIC. I actually enjoyed it more than the first time. And Richard Kind was very funny as well. Sherie, as usual, was terrific too.

Martin Short show TODAY/Nathan Lane Aug 13 2006, 06:57:16 PM
We went to see Martin Short's show today - - which is quite funny, albeit a bit weird. BUT the best part was that there was a special guest in the audience - NATHAN LANE!! Nathan was pulled up on stage and spent about 20 minutes improving w/Martin Short. It was HYSTERICAL - definitely the best part of the show!

re: MARY POPPINS (West End) Review Mar 23 2006, 08:32:40 PM
I saw it in London too and I must say I was totally disappointed. I have seen almost every musical over the last ten years and this was just dull - no life to it whatsoever. Oh well...

re: Who sings defying gravity the best/ worst? Jan 16 2006, 07:10:36 PM
i have seen the show 11 times...Many different elphies... Best - Idina No real worst - - they were all different. Soshana's was very controlled (but I saw her early in her run and on Idina's last day when she couldn't come out except the end). Eden yells a bit too much. Steph's more sweet. Still - - I did like Idina the best although I agree toward the end of her run her voice was very tired.

re: Go Ahead Derrick Williams!!! Nov 28 2005, 10:51:29 PM
I have seen Wicked 11 times (New York/Chicago and Touring Group in Toronto) and Derrick, unfortunately, was the weakest Fiyero of the bunch.

re: who will play mary poppins? Nov 23 2005, 05:11:26 PM
i was just on biz in London and went to see this show. It's okay - the second act is much stronger than the first. I didn't love it.

re: Euan & Eden's Concert Last Night! Oct 23 2005, 09:35:08 PM
Euan was terrific. Eden still SCREAMS when she sings. She has a terrific voice but for some reason...still feels the need to SCREAM many of the notes.

re: Saycon Went on for Act II Tonite! Sep 10 2005, 07:45:20 AM
Very interesting posts. I am a huge WICKED fan. I've seen it 8 times on Broadway. Once in Toronto and I flew to Chicago last week. Chicago blew it out of the water! As I said to my sister who went w/me "this cast is totally, fresh - they are into it 100% and it's MUCH stronger than the last few times I saw it on B'Way". Ben was in it (it was his last day of the week) and even he was terrific. Kate and Ana were fantastic and, as I said, the entire team was totally into it. Maybe then need to
