Supercal takes place almost 30 (maybe even 40) minutes after Jolly Holliday, where even there they are not in the chalk.
This is not like the movie, so don't expect too many similarities, even in the familair songs...
But I think it's better than the movie..:)

I'm sorry, but what was the special report about? I haven't had time to follow the news at all these days...

Rosie is too funny, if she could, I bet she'd give out multiple Tony's for every category.
Something about pulling out of Iraq
What did u think of Ashley's wig?
Gavin a nom, Ashley, probably not.
Did no one make the announcement? It's not THE VIEW anymore... it's The Rosie O'Donnell Show II...
Does anyone else notice her take over 100%?
Also, I love the way she just hands out Tony Noms... I can just see Ashley Brown "But ROSIE said..." I do love her and wish them all the best -- but yeah, that song is getting old. If you can't find the Views performance online maybe you can find the Today Show's or Good Morning America's or any of the other shows they performed on.
The EW Article -- what date is that issue?? Thanks

I think Gavin will get a nom but Ashley (as great and Practically Perfect as I think she is) will not
That's a wig?

Hmm. Looked like her real hair pulled back!

I agree with NathanLaneStalker: Gavin Lee will probably get a Tony nomination, but it'll be tougher for Ashley Brown (good as she is), because the Best Actress category is so competitive. Off the top of my head, there's Kristin Chenoweth, Christine Ebersole, Audra McDonald and Donna Murphy. That's four slots right there. So who gets the fifth slot? Ashley? Laura Bell Bundy? Stephanie J. Block? Charlotte D'Amboise? Lea Michele?
For you fans of Gavin Lee, here's an interview we just did ...
Playbill.com: 'The Leading Men' - Gavin Lee
Wayman, I LOVE Gavin's interview! Thank you so much.
Will be be nominated for "feature actor" or "leading actor"? He was nominated for "feature" category in Olivier Award but he could go as "leading" no?
BTW what's Donna Murphy going to be in? As far as 5th slot, Laura Bell Bundy (the show itself doesn't seem to be that great) Stephanie J. Block (no idea) Charlotte D'Amboise (if it's between Charlotte and Ashley, I'd say Ashley) Lea Michele (if the show could run longer after the opening, I'd say she has a good chance but she seems to be more of a feature actress if you think about how many scenes she appears in).
Deb Monk for the fifth slot.
Donna Murphy is starring as Lotte Lenya in LoveMusik opposite Michael Cerveris as Kurt Weill.
I think Gavin will definitely get a nom. With all the reviews, he was the one that received an overwhelmingly positive set of reviews and he is fantastic in the role. He is also an incredibly sweet man and deserves to get recognized for being outstanding in this role. When I took my mom to see it, she adored him.
And my heart melts to see how nice he is to all the kids at teh stage door.

Lite2shine, I think Gavin would be Tony-nominated for Best Actor, as he was at the Olivier Awards (alongside Nathan Lane - who won - and Lee Evans from 'The Producers,' and Paul Hagarty in 'Sweeney Todd'). I suspect he'll also get Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle nods, but the award he's most likely to take home is a Theatre World Award for his Broadway debut.

I'm sorry but she has no charm at all.
She has no charm, the new context of the song is bizarre, and the choreography for that number is absolutely embarrasing. Chris.

I think, Tony-wise, The sets and lighting will receive nominations, along with actings noms for Luker, Lee, and (MAYBE)Jennings. As much I enjoyed Brown, I don't think she deserves a Tony nomination, never mind a Tony. I know that despite my enjoyment of her performance, she doesn't give the BEST performance of Mary Poppins, and I think there are more qualified actresses who could've done more.

would you really say that debra monks role is a LEADING role? I didn't feel that when I saw the show.
I haven't seen the show (in fact, I know nothing about it), but you're not the only one to question that. Perhaps it will be like last year's race with Sutton Foster. She was considered leading, but I certainly thought she was supporting through and through.

I don't think Charlotte will get a nom, she is NOT the lead! I don't understand why people think Cassie is the lead, she just has one solo number. So do Val, Mike, and Diana. Can someone please explain to me why Cassie is considered the lead in ACL???

Judging by the performance, Ashley is good, but not as good as Laura Michelle, in my opinion, and not Tony-worthy
overall, I really hate how they stanged "Supercali..." and it makes me not want to see this show that much. I probably will eventually, but it just looks very kiddy

In the original production, Donna McKechnie was bumped up to lead, and she won Best Actress over Chita Rivera and Gwen Verdon in 'Chicago.' To my mind, Cassie is a featured role. But by bumping up McKechnie to lead, I'm guessing that 'Chorus Line' was trying to maximize its number of nominations (and wins). It made room for Carole Bishop and Priscilla Lopez to be both up for Featured Actress. If McKechnie were Featured, either Bishop or Lopez might've been bumped out. ... In the latest round of Tony nominations, I don't recall a ruling about Charlotte d'Amboise, so it's very possible that they (the producers) decided her odds were better off in Featured Actress.
