Hey does anyone know how mary pulls all the stuff out of her bag in "Practically Perfect"? I saw the show and only knew how her bed showed up!
Is it possible that there's a mirror or something underneath the table that blocks the audience's view of the things coming up? Or are they all collapsible? I saw it nearly two years ago and I don't particularly recall that scene, so I'm just giving my ideas, not how it's actually done.

Some are collapsable, others are inserted through a hole in the table.

oh thank you i was just really curious! since the kids crawl underneath the table!
Do they discuss this in Schumacher's book?
when I saw the show, I could see matthew gumley's (michael) reflection of his hand under the table. So there is a mirror.

Well, in Schumacher's book, he mentions the scene. Then he says something like "But you wouldn't want to ruin the magic" or "But there are somethings you have to be in the business to learn"

Thanks so much does anyone know about this new mary poppins book! does it say alot of the behind the scenes stuff?
Is the bag propped up against a set piece? I thought I remember seeing a hand go through the bag from the backside facing away from the audience (I was sitting in the balcony).

Same here. Infact, one night, I swore I saw a hand try to reach out and grab something which Ashley had pulled out. I think she pulled out the blanket instead of the mirror by accident. Apparently, it happens all the time.
