Matinee decision tomorrow

Flying in tonight; was planning to see Glorious Ones at the matinee tomorrow, but friends and acquaintances have been trying to dissuade me. So, I put it to you:
Cyrano? Xanadu? Farnsworth Invention? Something else? Or should I stick with my original plan?
I'm going to the opera at night, and seeing Rock & Roll on Thursday night, so tomorrow's mat is my only open slot. Thanks!

re: Matinee decision tomorrow

I've only seen XANADU of those mentioned, but XANADU was ***AMAZING*** and one of the very few shows that I have seen more than once. Sit on stage, if you can.

I heard great things about CYRANO. Sounds like a winner.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I say go with your gut. I'm going to Cyrano on Thurs., but really want to see Glorious Ones.

Cyrano was very good, and it is a limited run, so if you don't catch it now you will probably not get another chance.

Obviously, I'm biased, but why are your friends trying to dissuade you from seeing GLORIOUS ONES?? It's funny and heartfelt and has a terrific score. The cast is really top-notch, I'd certainly rather hear a new score than a jukebox one.

Just my opinion, of course...

I don't know what opera you're going to be attending, but if it's heavy one, you might want to consider seeing something lighter in the afternoon. And for sheer non-stop, funny, and well-performed by EVERYONE, nothing beats Xanadu!!!!! It also has the advantage of running 90 minutes, which means you can have a breather between shows. Heartily recommended!!!!!
