I'm really suprised that Christine is missing two shows so close to closing, especially with her great track record.
I sense some very angry people.
EDIT:
Just checked telecharge, and it appears MLW is going to be out as well. Very interesting.
*Christine Ebersole will not perform on Tuesday - July 17. Maureen Moore will perform the roles usually played by Ms. Ebersole.
** Mary Louise Wilson will not perform on Tuesday - July 17. Dale Soules will perform the role usually played by Ms. Wilson.

Posted: 7/16/07 at 4:49pmOh, good lord. I really wasn't going to spend money on Grey Gardens this week.

DITTO!
My parents want to see Maureen, but I want them to see Christine as well.
Its a tough decision.
I want to see Maureen/Dale too!
I just said after Megan's yesterday I wouldn't see anything for the rest of this week.
I'm sure they'll have a ton of returns... Maybe they'll budge on the Student Rush and sell some more tomorrow due to the number of returns they'll be getting.

I'm going to get there around 9:30 or so.
ETA, for the true GG fanatics, Scott Frankel is apparently conducting Wednesday night.

Posted: 7/16/07 at 5:19pmI honestly doubt that they wouldn't have student rush tomorrow. Otherwise, the theatre will be empty.

I'm going tomorrow morning as well.
If they do, i'm getting 2 for my parents or 2 in the balcony for them which I'm sure they'll be able to move down from.
They're being pretty ridiculous at the box office about the Rush.

Posted: 7/16/07 at 5:26pmMaybe not tomorrow, though. They've got to be anticipating a lot of returns.

Posted: 7/16/07 at 5:32pmIs this just a vaction for Christine and MLW? Not that I'd mind seeing understudies, but I hope they are in on Saturday.

Posted: 7/16/07 at 5:37pmNO! I was going tomorrow to see the show. I honestly truly respect Maureen and Dale, but so close to closing I was really planning on seeing Christine and Mary Louise. Although maybe they will do rush... ugh. And with Scott conducting WEDNESDAY, when I can't go.

Posted: 7/16/07 at 7:25pmDamn. I wasn't planning on going until Wednesday.

I saw Maureen Moore at Broadway Barks - that woman is one ball of energy! Usually I get that disappointed feeling when the understudy is announced to go on, but I would totally see Grey Gardens or any show with Maureen. Too bad I can't go tomorrow! If it was a matinee, I'd be in line!

Posted: 7/16/07 at 9:06pmI saw Maureen back in June and she was remarkable, so don't feel you will be disappointed by her portrayal. She was playing opposite MLW, though, so I am not sure what two u/s would be like.

Posted: 7/16/07 at 10:38pmJust in case we needed a second confirmation, Maureen called me earlier tonight to let me know she'd be on for sure.

Posted: 7/16/07 at 11:50pmWow, that house is going to be empty tomorrow. At this point, the only reason people are either seeing this show for the first time or making a return visit is for Ebersole and Wilson.

Posted: 7/16/07 at 11:52pmThe only reason? I'm seeing it for the first time on Saturday, and I can't wait, whether Ebersole and Wilson are there or not. Don't speak for everyone, Foster.

Sunday's crowd was electric.
I'd love Maureen to get that reaction for what will most likely be her final show in the run.

Posted: 7/17/07 at 12:39amThere is no chance of that happening. She would have to call nine hundred friends.

I don't think Dale has been on yet...
Could this be just an opportunity to let both standbys go on before the closing?

Well every other cast member has taken advantage of their (previously planned) July vacations in the past 2 weeks.
Seeing as Christine gave hers up, she may just be taking intermittent days off.
Um, that was a pretty ****ty thing to say katie22. I don't think that each performance of GG is electric because MLW and Christine's friends are in the audience.

I'm going to get my ticket at lunch... I figure they'll be lenient about student rush today, right?! *hopes*
I forgot that Sarah's on vacation this week as well. Oy.

Just back from Student Rush.
I was shocked that there was a fair-sized line in the lobby. Some people purchasing full price, a few for future dates. I think only about 8-10 student rush tickets were purchased.
We got: (drum roll)
Orchestra B 1 & 3
Hot damn!
