May trip and discount tickets advice

I will be in NY late May/early June and am starting to work out which shows I want to see.
Most of the shows I want to see are yet to open, and will have only been running a few months in most cases.
Thererfore, my question is whether I should book regular price tickets now or if you think it is worth waiting to see if any discounts come out? I know that it will be peak season when I am there - and it all depends on how well the shows are received but if you could lend some advice I would appreciate it.

Priscilla Queen of the Desert
How to succeed..
The Addams Family
The Book of Mormon

I am also deciding between :
Spiderman:Turn Off the Dark
Anything Goes
Catch me if you can
Sister Act ( I think there may be a code for this already)
Wonderland

Are you a student
Most of the shows you've listed either have or will have a student rush
Spiderman has a general rush for $30

There is a code for Sister Act through July 3!

WONDERLAND will more than likely have a code. It's a great Frank Wildhorn score but the book (even just the dialogue alone) needs major work, but who knows if they have enough time. I'm fairly certain there will be a discount code for this one, just based on the fate of other Wildhorn shows (The reviews regardless of how tolerable or good it is will most likely be bad).

Spider-man: I saw it and really enjoyed it. Groundbreaking? Not musical theatre-wise, but the stunts & stagecraft are incredible. Julie even designed some fantastic costumes/masks, and the sets (& of course the flying) are all cool. I was distracted by them in a good way where I enjoyed it.

Addams Family: That being said, I think the other two musicals are both better for what you're paying, unless Addams brings in some other new talent. Addams' score is a dud, the plot/book is generally a dud, so choose wisely! Funny (something WONDERLAND needs to work on), but un-Addams like.

Spiderman is general rush..I would def try and see it. Not as bad as everyone is saying. Try and see Catch Me also. Phenomenal cast (Aaron, Kerry, Norbert etc.)

Thanks philly - a friend of mine saw TAF and just raves about it.
I have very low expectations, but my partner (whom only wants to see one or two shows) has his heart set on this one so it is a definite yes :)
I will probably end up seeing about 6 - I could see more but want to allow time for other non theatre things whilst we are there.

I saw Addams... 3 times. First time loved it, second time liked it, third time said that's it!

Then I'd catch Spider-Man and WONDERLAND. Personally would pass on Priscilla (but many seem to love it on this board), and pick up Sister Act.

See I HAVE to see Priscilla. It is not often an Aussie gets to see an Australian musical on Broadway (albeit a jukebox one). I saw it when it first opened here in Sydney and thought it was 'ok' - but will be fun to see it in NY I think.

See Spidey. It's not as bad as everyone is saying...in fact, there are some pretty cool parts and touching points as well. AND it's a piece of broadway history. You'll want to be able to speak about it intelligently and formulate your opinion based your own thoughts, not just off what other's have said. That way you'll be able to productively contribute (hopefully) to the conversations that are sure to follow for __________s to come. :)

There are discounts for almost all of the shows you mentioned. I've gotten offers for discount tickets for all the new shows: Priscilla, Wonderland, Catch Me, etc. They may not be extremely discounted (around $90), but I'd never pay $116.whatever for a show.

Don't know about valid dates, but Broadwaybox has discounts listed for most shows that have discounts out there. They will tell you specific expiration dates on the site.

For a late May/early June visit book tickets as early a you can. The Tony nominations will have been announced and that always boosts attendance plus the Tony voters and their partners are invited to come see all the shows which uses up a lot of seats for each production. Discounts may be a little harder to come by but if they are offered take advantage when they are out there.

Anakela- Whoops. The deal I found is through WorkingAdvantage, that I get for free through my union membership. They're offering $88 orchestra seats, but you have to get them through the site. They also have Sister Act for $85 orch.
