On the original broadway recording, on the big ending of "Me and My Town" with "Give me my coat give me my crown" the harmonies there are so much more intricate than any other version of the song. At least four part on the word "crown"
What happened to them? I never hear them in performances of the song since. It's either a unison with the men or two part.
The Original 1964 Broadway Cast Recording was recorded the day after the show closed so the creators most likely tweaked a few things that weren’t done at the theatre. Lansbury is slightly embarrassed with the recording as she had yet learned to sing so she was honoring the material which was out of the her vocal range. ANYONE CAN WHISTLE was her first full-out stage musical. She studied hard after this experience.
