NYCbabe3789 - I was at the show Saturday night also! Did the cancellation had row E smack center! I thought Megan was awesome! She didn't copy Jennifer Laura Thompson nor did she copy Kristin Chenoweth. She did her own thing. Though her "Popular" was funny, it could have been funnier. She wasn't on-going with the hair toss like Jennifer does. Overall, she deffinetly did do a great job! I saw her after the show and she came up to me and she said "I remember you!!! I saw you like 3 weeks ago! Wow did you see the show?!?" She's so nice! I love her headshot used in the Playbill!
JLT is staying with the show till after march right? cuz I'm seeing it like march 7th or something and I know Shoshanna is Elphaba so...

it depends if JLT takes her 9 month or 12 month out...
Does anyone know if anyone will be out in "Wicked" on Dec. 28?

I dont know if anyone posted this already because i didnt get a chance to read it.
but i know Jennifer is out sick with Bronchitis (sp?)
i saw Megan Hilty today (12/29 matinee)...
it was my first time to NYC, first time seeing a broadway show, and seeing time seeing WICKED obviously.. haha
i have nothing to compare to other than the sountrack, but i thought Megan was absolutely amazing! She is definitely a good Stand-by. Also, i went to the stage door after (i seriously ran out of the theatre haha) and she only took like 30 minutes to come out...she was so awesome, very sweet! she signed my playbill and i got a picture with her...she was gladly to sign everyone's things, and take pictures. she was definitely one of the nicest people i have ever met in my life. when she first came out she did the whole autograph thing and she wouldnt leave until she had everyone done, then she left and went to go get her food or something...then about 30 minutes later she comes back with a big bag of food for i guess her and others... and there were some new fans there and they asked her for an autograph, and she immediately put her things down and ran over to them to sign there things...and after she was done i asked her for another picture because i think someone kinda got in the first one...and she like "omg of course" and i was talking to her and i was telling her how it was my first time in NYC and my first time seeing a broadway show and how she did a phenomenal job and she goes "awww thank you so much" and we talked about a few other things and then she had to leave...but maybe she is in the running for a permanent role as Glinda if JLT leaves permanently...she is very sweet, nice, and awesome performer...very funny on stage and had her notes down... like i said i have nothing to compare her too, but for it being my first time seeing WICKED, she did an amazing job!

Hey I know you have already seen Megan by now but i personally thought that Megan had an angelic voice and was very gracefull on stage! I am glad that I saw Megan and not JLT. I hope you enjoyed the show!!!

In my opinion Megan Hilty is really amazing, she completely changed the role from how JLT did it...and I think she's somewhat better then JLT, because the role is so fresh for her, since she doesn't do it every day.
I saw Megan and loved her in the role. I haven't seen JLT, but I have seen Kristin, and at first I thought nothing could compare to Kristin. But Megan did a great job of making the part her own. And she has such a beautiful voice! She really blew me away. And, like others mentioned, she's really sweet and gracious at the stage door.
Wow. I'm shocked at the things that I've read in this thread thus far.
When I saw Megan Hilty, she was a TRAIN WRECK. Train. Wreck. There was a point where I was almost 100% sure that "Popular" was going to metamorphose into lesbian porn before my eyes. It wasn't a pretty thing.
I saw Hilty on... October 22 or 23, I think. Was this one of her first shows? Maybe she's improved since then, which is entirely possible. But, wow... just... wow. She was horrible when I saw her. It kind of made me want to throw myself at Kristin Chenoweth's feet.
I actually met Megan Hilty about two years ago when I was at Carnegie Mellon for pre-college and again at her graduation--my brother graduated with her as a scenic/lighting designer. I was fortunate enough to see her perform in "Two Gentleman of Verona." And she was hilarious! She is exceedingly talented and has a heart of gold. I couldn't be happier to hear that she is already having so much success. I doubt that anyone would be disappointed with her performance.
Megan was on tonight as Glinda (4-1-05), she told me at the stage door after the show that it was her 24th time performing the role. She did a good job, I was pleasantly surprised.
wickedgrl2006, i saw wicked then 2!!!!!!! It was my first time, too! small world....Anway, Megan was very very good and extremely nice. I got an autogrph from her and pics, etc and she took a pic with every single person there who wanted 1. It took like an hour, but she still did it. Shes very good.
Hah i saw it 12/29 matinee also as my first time after waiting 5 hours in the cancellation line. Megan was really good and sweet at the stage door. But after seeing it in Feb. and last week I like JLT better, but I'm sure once Megan takes over and settles in she will be just as good.
