New talent? Wonderful! Considering it looks like we might be getting Kendra here in London (nooooooo!) it would be nice to be able to go to b/way and see someone we haven't seen/heard before.
I agree btw I dislike Saycon a bit too...

Yes HBG, but it is also known that Stephen Oremus HATED Shoshana's vocal techniques and riffing, to the point where she would tone it down DRASTICALLY if she knew he was in the audience.
The problem with this three stop thing is that Julia's contract ends August 20th in Costa Mesa. Kendra's contract ends September 3rd in Tempe. If the Shoshana/Megan deal didn't become effective until Portland (September 6th-17th,) who would be Elphaba for Tempe?, because Julia will have already left.
And being a friend of Saycon's, I can tell you.... she loves playing this role, and it has been an incredible journey for her, but she is ready to explore new things. I am not saying she is leaving, because I don't know anything about that (although I think she is set to be there through the summer and into the fall at least,) but I am not so sure if she WANTS to play it full time. And how do any of you know that Stephen Schwartz doesn't like her? If he didn't like her that much, she wouldn't have gotten cast as standby.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Like I said, A LOT of people didn't like Shoshana, Stephen Oremus being one. There were definitely others. I won't mention names.
Stephen Schwartz might like Saycon, I don't know for sure. I was just responding to what someone else wrote. And, even if he doesn't like her, it doesn't mean that she wouldn't have gotten cast anyway. He has a lot of say, but he's not the ultimate decisionmaker. Saycon is very talented and I'd love to see her do something else. I just don't like her in Wicked.

I highly doubt that Kendra is going to London, Claire. Rehearsals are supposed to start July 24th, and her contract isn't up until September 3rd. The London production begins September 7th. There is no way that they're putting someone in the role with no rehearsal time.
That was pure vodka, you poop!

^ You are my star....that is brilliant to hear!
LOVE you, I want Emma Williams for the part so that's really good news.
Although I'm still getting 'Kendra's in it' fired at me.

Emma Williams...the name sounds familiar, but I can't place her. What else has she been in?

She was the original Truley Scrumpious in Chitty on the W/E, she's brilliant on the soundtrack doing 'upper class snob' so I think she would be amazing.
She was also in the W/E version of Batboy.
