Local actress Megan Hilty, who has been acting as the stand-by for Glinda in Broadway's newest smash hit WICKED, will officially take over the role with a tentative opening date of April 17. She joins fellow Northwest actor Shoshana Bean, who is currently playing Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, and Broadway legend and Tony-winner Ben Vereen, who will be playing The Wizard.
Is your source the online Seattle newspaper? Don't know where they got the info, but the Wicked website says 4/17 is JLT and George's last show, not anyone's first.
I saw her when i went to new york over the week before new years. She is great at the role and hits it perfectly...i think it will be a good addition. Though i did not see shoshana bean (i was lucky enough to see idina), i think it will be a good combination.
megan was great when i saw her... i hope this is true!

I believe it is true. My cousin, who's friends with Megan, told me this around Christmas time. I don't know if they made an official report about it yet, though.

I really don't want to go through this again...
Let's just wait until it is unannounced, hmmm?
Broadway.com is announcing it, but they frequently piggyback off the "chatter boards". So, we'll see.
