it always helped me (back at the beginning of my career) to write everything out by hand - write all of your cue lines and then your character's responses - something about the act of writing with your own hand helps to transfer the information to your brain faster.
I also used to tape record all my cue lines and leave spaces for my character to respond on the tape - that way I had a "scene partner" to rehearse with whenever I needed one.

"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

The motivation and meaning behind the lines is great, but I got overwhelmed when I did that at first. So to JUST MEMORIZE my lines, I used a small, handheld tape recorder. I tape recorded the entire scene that I was in. I spoke the lines of the other actors and I left blank spaces for my lines. That way, when I played the dialogue back, I knew that my line was supposed to come. I did this one scene at a time, one act at a time.

I was able to acutally visualize where I was in the script due to the combination of hearing my dialogue and seeing it in print. Before I knew it, I was off book!
