Why do people not like Memphis? I have seen the show multiple times and thought it was one of the best shows ever to be of presence on Broadway. Every song is up beat and enjoyable. The fact that people want this to be cut is beyond me. It kind of makes me upset because I really thought it was a good show and I really hope that it continues to be a great success. I know that a show can't last forever but, I just thought Memphis was just as good as Wicked. Someone please let me know why people don't like Memphis and want it gone!

I think a lot of people on here would agree with you that Memphis is just as good as Wicked, just for the record.

I find them both to be terrible shows...

Greg - it's great that you like it. There's no reason that you shouldn't. There's also no reason that you should worry about what anyone else thinks.

Most folks around here don't think Wicked is fabulous, either -- so comparing the two isn't going to do much for you.

I LIKED Memphis, but I'd never see it again. I found Kimball BEYOND annoying. I didn't think ANY of the music was memorable and I didn't think the story was terribly compelling as told.

There are a number of threads that talk about Memphis. If you truly want to hear others opinions, use the search feature and you should find them easily.
