And now I have Wickeder from Forbidden Broadway stuck in my head...

Am I cut out to spend my time this way?

Well, of course she's going to say nice things about her. She's a professional. She's not going to bad mouth someone just for publicity's sake. They're both good ppl, or at least seem it, considering I've never met either of them.

If this were a business website, we'd be talking professionalism (good for you who have), having job-specific talents, and the ability to deliver a consistent, well-presented product. All of which DEE and CHENO delivered each night at the Gershwin. (I love that nickname thing...none of us have ever met these ladies--and harrassing them at the stage door and getting and autograph and picture (again that's professionalism, NOT a relationship)--doesn't count-- But alas, this is not a business website... a real shame, because from all REPUTABLE accounts both of them are the consumate professionals that not everyone is.

That said, in any other business (and theatre is a business) any employer would want people that exhibit those qualities mentioned above. I work in such a place. And I can tell you that while everyone acts professionally (and those who don't get fired), not everyone has developed a deep personal relationship that all of you seem to want for these people, and not everyone gets along -- some of us hate each other, but it doesn't and shouldn't effect the job.

Aside from an embarrassing need that some of you seem to have for DEE and CHENO (LMAO)to have lives together outside of the one show they have so far done together, all of you need to realize that it is their JOB to have onstage chemistry, to display emotion, and when interviewed to "tow the company line" (Those of you who have at least seen H2$ should know that!). Who cares if they love or hate each other? The bottom line is they did a nice job in a nice show and have moved on. Unfortunately the rumor mongers (ironically enough the same people who moan that DEE and CHENO don't have another show lined up, but are instead choosing movie and concert dates)who are either pro DEE or pro CHENO, may actually be doing a disservice to them. You see, theater proffessionals read these sites to guage public opinion about people they hire. The slightest hint of trouble betweeen the 2 or caused by either may just sway them not to hire them because their reputation is such that they are less marketable (And before you play the "They won the Tony" argument, what happened to Maryann Plunkett, Robert Lindsay or Michael Maguire..Tony winners for Me and My Girl and a little show called Les Miserables?)It's called blacklisting, and it happens A LOT. Difficult actresses or actresses with questionable work ethic aren't getting jobs. So think about that...

Sweeneyfan, I think you are being too harsh. Let people specualte about what went on "behind the scenes" it's not embarrassing, it's human nature and WHOLE cable networks like E! are devoted to it. It only becomes a problem when it becomes invasive. This specific case is pretty harmless.

Plus, on the whole people are reading these sites issue: the fact that people care enough to talk about Idina and Kristin endlessly should be taken as a good sign.

I just wanted to know if there was proof to back up the rumour. And I guess there isn't.

Well, it wasn't like Vivian Vance and William Frawley...or is it?
Guess we'll have to wait and see if one dances on the other one's grave.

This is the inside scoop I got from a girl in the OBC cast who is friends with someone I know and we had dinner one night and this is her version of what happened......

WICKED was originally supposed to be a vehicle for Kristin. Kristin was friends with Idina in the beginning (rehearsals, etc.) but when the show opened and it turned into "Idina's show" (aka Idina got more attention), Kristin got jealous and started some backstage drama which in turn made complications with Idina. They kept it under wraps as much as possible but there was def. hostility backstage.

I was just discussing this on Kristin's forum, and they say that it really should be kept between Kristin and Idina. And I really think it should stay that way. So in other words, we'll probably never know...

During Kristin's last performance, it certainly looked like Kristin had a genuine fondness for Idina. Idina was cracking up at Kristin's unscripted jokes. If it was all an act, they were both very good at it. I love that so many of us have this little itch to know what really went on backstage. We're sick.

Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

Hey... I'm new here and joined because of someone in Cheno's fan club... I am a mebmer of both Dee and Kristins FC's and this is what I think...
I dunno I've heard both... I don't think cheno is cabable of "Hate" and I don't know about Idina but I'd say the same goes for her. They are VERY different people.... I can see that... but as to how they got along I guess thats between them...If they didn't like eachother... they did a HELL of a job not showing it which i think is highly admirable and very professional. Of course we'd all like them to be best buddies but some times thats just not how it works out. But they difinatly accomplished what they set out to do with wicked.
You are all right in saying that this is their job. A lot of people that work together dont like eachother... but they did a fabluous job not letting that interfere. I agree with the post about the last show. They are both AMAZING actresses but you could tell that their emotions were completly genuine... If they hated eachother I don't believe that either of them would have cared that much. Just my two cents for whatever its worth!

Perfectly pink, I could not agree with you more. I agree that professionalism plays a part in only saying nice things about someone, but you can also tell when someone is being genuine. I don't doubt that Kristin may have been a little jealous when Wicked turned into Elphaba's story and Idina won the Tony, but in the end I think they have a lot of respect for each other.

I feel thankful for that certain "someone in Cheno's fan club." (Who is me, by the way....) Welcome, Perfectly Pink.

So, Jason, this was the thread you were talking about. Geez, this is the question that will never die!! lol

These are two women who worked very hard and very closely for almost three years. That's bound to put stress on even the best of relationships. Whether they were friends at the end of Kristin's run in Wicked remains to be seen. Thank goodness they are both amazing performers, and have left all of us grateful for their involvement with Wicked!!!
