In 2008, Tina Fey helped Obama win the white House with her blistering - and recurring - portrayal of Sarah Palin on SNL. In 2016, it is Meryl Streep's patriotic and civic duty as an American citizen to assume the role of Donald Trump on SNL between September and early November.
did she help Obama? I actually thought it made Palin seem likable, so Tina's portrayal made me even more nervous that the McCain / Palin ticket could win.
(also this probably should be on the off-topic board)

I think they were referring to her impersonation at the Public Theater Gala.

Whaaa? God no. Tina murdered Sarah Palin every single time, bringing out latter's stupidity and ignorance to the forefront. It was brilliant!
But Telegram Spam, way to create a dumb click-bait post. You really do make it sound like you're entitled to Streep's Trump portrayal. As it is, SNL has plenty of really talented comedians who could take on the challenge themselves and are already doing a fairly good job of it.
Yeah, the quote most attributed these days to Sarah Palin to epitomize her stupidity is "I can see Russia from my house," which Palin never actually said--Tina Fey did.
Yes, Streep did the Trump thing at the Gala this week.
maybe i meant that it specifically made her more likable for me lol (and thought maybe it made others feel the same). i was only 16 at the time so it didn't affect anything like who i would vote for but still.
