Last summer, HBO announced that it was going to produce a film of Master Class starring Meryl Streep and directed by Mike Nichols. But with Nichols' passing, it seems like the project has been put on hold. Does anyone have any updates?
I found this bit in an article:
A publicist at HBO (whose email I acquired with the help of my beloved, Joe) responded to my request about production dates by simply saying "there is no additional info." Perhaps I've already uncovered the info they're waiting to officially reveal...that the project is going forward with a new director at the helm.
I've been doing an extensive Google search to see if I can unearth any new information in regards to this project but so far I've only found articles announcing the project and nothing in regards to it's status.
In the interim if I come across anything I will be more than happy to share it with you.

I blame Faye Dunaway.

lmao @ sweet lips!!!
"I blame Faye Dunaway."
Always an appropriate response. I mean, it worked for ALW until she sued him.
I hope this is still happening! I can't wait to see Meryl as Florence Foster Jenkins though! Maria and Florence are TOTAL opposites so I would love to see Meryl play both! That would be amazing!
I love that Amy & Tina joke from one of their Golden Globes gigs. They complimented Meryl on whatever role(s) she was nominated for that year and said that her work and nomination prove that there "..are still great roles out there for Meryl Streeps over 60."
Bump. Wish something would come of this.......
God, me too...so heartbreaking that Mike Nichols passed before he was able to do this film! Hope another director gets attached soon.
