Michael Ball in WIW, how long?

I saw the show in London in July and would make a special trip to NYC just to see him perform. Does anyone know how long he'll be in WIW? I am hoping to come up in March, but could come earlier if he will be leaving sooner. Is there any confirmed information? thanks

He stays until March 12 I believe. The Sunday matinee I believe is the last date.

I think his time in the show is short because he has other commitments. They probably want to start putting Americans into the role soon! That's just a blind guess!

Its still a six month contract. Its not that short.

I believe he was asked at the stage door of Patience this past week and he said he had other commitments.

Will his leaving in March affect his chances of a TONY nomination ( I believe this will be announced in the second week of May) and a possible TONY win?

I hope he extends so a lot more audiences can see his performance. I had seen the show in London and he was such a crowd pleaser.

I took a chance and got tickets for March 12th. After Spamalot this March I swore I wouldn't come back until later in the season, but seeing Michael Ball will be worth it. This FL girl is not used to the cold!

Thanks Sharon. Actually, I took this a couple of years ago during his last week in "Chitty" in London. He does actually tend to look thinner in person...but always gorgeous!

ROLF!!!!! Thanks Chrys...have to say I'm partial to it as well. Was the first time I saw him perform and had the chance to meet him...such a great guy! The picture was sheer luck..taken with the camera over my head in a crowd LOL.

KEC is right...if you haven't seen "Patience" do so...Michael and Kevin Burdette are fabulous!

Honestly guys, I was debating wether or not I should see Patience. In fact, I had almost decided not to go, entirely because I know I'm gonna see WIW *several* times. But if it's that good, I guess I'll try to go.

Does anyone know the NYC Opera's policy for student tickets?

It's not a RUSH policy for students, but I think there are seats available from front row down on the edge of each row which costs only $16 each. I'm not sure if there are any still available. You may want to call them or go to their site.

SEE IT!!!! You won't regret it. I'm not a huge G&S fan and had never seen Patience. I really enjoyed the entire production...but Michael and Kevin stole the show. Michael's Bunthorne his "over the top" (In his own words "WAAAAY over the top") You should try to catch him at the stage door to see the contrast lol!

Lori's right... The entire cast are wonderful, but Michael and Kevin Burdette are outstanding! I wasn't familiar with Patience at all, but it's now become my favorite G&S work, largely because of the great performances. It really is "that good." You won't be sorry
