I'm glad others love his work. I try to see everything and I adore the Public, but I really hated the music.
Testa was outstanding and for her performance I would gladly sit through it again.
(I LIKED Marie Christine well it was because of Audra)

I loved Hairspray and See What I Wanna See for two different reasons. Hairspray was fun and the cast was great. SWIWS was different, beautiful and haunting. The icing on the cake was the very talented cast.

I would like to proclaim my love for Michael John LaChiusa and See What I Wanna See. I haven't seen Hairspray, but the music is fun and lively, so I'm sure the show is entertaining. No, he should not have "bashed" Hairspray, but he has just as much right to his opinion as you do to yours. Please don't criticize him for have a different opinion... and I'm sorry SWIWS wasn't your cup of tea.

It was a "snoozefest" but you would "gladly" sit through it again. Well...THAT makes sense.

To add to Munk's post, is anyone else concerned that this is the (over)reaction of a Drama Desk voting member?
I guess that explains it then.
"I'd choose Whittman. (I don't want to give someone else a big ego)"
Well we won't have to worry about Scott getting a big ego either since his last name is Wittman.
I think this whole thread is just some twisted form of hero worship.
