I was just looking up some info on Micky Dolenz. I heard people say he wasn't that great in Aida.
Was he ever in an episode of Boy Meets World, one of the earlier ones? I think it is one where Alan reunites with his band, and it includes Davy Jones.
EDIT: Never mind, it is him. Anyone see this?
He was in at least two episodes of Boy Meets World i think.
And yes, he wasn't that great in Aida. Sitting front row and looking at him up close is kinda freaky, but whatever. The Monkees rock!
I didn't think he was THAT bad in Aida. But he was the first Zoser I saw.
I sat next to him at the bar in Angus. I almost had a heart attack when I realized it was Mickey Dolenz. My grade-school crush came back to haunt me! Luckily, it's not 1969 anymore and I've moved on...
*sigh*
I love The Monkees.

Micky Dolenz was in a few episodes of Boy Meets World, and he actually directed several of them. He played the Matthews' neighbor and Alan's best friend. One of them was the episode where Alan reunites with his old band--and yes, Davy Jones was in it as a random person who said he went to college with Alan but who no one remembered. Peter Tork was also in that episode, and a few others. He played Topanga's father.
Wow. I know a lot about Boy Meets World. The Disney Channel comes in handy sometimes, huh?

I've seen AIDA with John Hickok, Donnie Kehr and Mickey Dolenz all as Zoser. Dolenz was the worst of the three, acting and singing. Zoser gets two sensational vocal numbers through "Another Pyramid" and "Like Father, Like Son". I was upset at how badly Dolenz was, as he literally talked through and sang none of the higher parts to either of his songs. a Let down indeed.

"Reg! Reginald Fairfield!"
Mickey Dolenz...
I love the Monkees.
I love the Monkees on Boy Meets World.
Ahhhhh!
They just released Boy Meets World Season 1 on DVD. I remember Micky Dolenz being on the show when Cory was younger, so maybe he'll appear somewhere on the DVDs.
He sat at the table next to me at the Stage Deli a few months back. He was with his daughter and wife. Sad thing was, my friend had NO idea who the Monkees are/were. Such a crime!
I have not seen Micky in years. last time was when we were both at a goodbye party for our Japanese exchange students. He had just had a hang gliding accident. He was showing me his scar. Boy do I feel old. I remember when he was a child actor:)
Glad he is still working.
Yours,
Carolyn
For what it's worth, Mickey is a very nice, down-to-earth guy.

I'm the person who won the dinner with Micky at the Rockers on Broadway show. It was a wonderful experience. Micky was friendly, funny, accommodating and took a real interest in me and the people I brought to the dinner. I was rather quiet and he really tried to get me to talk more. He's a very kind person and I now have some very special memories. I thought he sang well in AIDA.
Dear God,
May this man NEVER be allowed to set foot upon the stage again.
Amen.
