Someone recently bought me this CD so I thought Id try to keep up with the lyrics to the speed test & type it as he sings and I failed miserably. I only got about a sentence or two done in time with the lyrics. anyone else ever try this or try some other antic mentioned in a show?

I haven't tried this, but if you're interested in the lyrics to this song, a quick Google search should yield promising results.
Oh hey. I sound like a fortune cookie right there.
im sure the lyrics are in the CD insert... i just wanted to test myself the way Millie is tested and I failed. I was wondering if anyone else ever did something similar.
Speed Typists were good at there job because they could type fast. Please do not loose sleep over Millie.
sigh. i assure you that wasnt the point i was getting at...

AH! I get what you're trying to say now!
I don't know if I could keep up with that. I type about 90 words per minute on a good day, but I still don't think I could possibly do that as fast of the stenographers of the 20's.
I understand what you are saying. but millie was so good at her job no one else could do it. You should have seen Mr. Grayden. He was interviewing girls left and right.
i know, i saw Millie twice, thats why I thought it was fun to see how I faired in comparison. Of course she was writing shorthand while he was speaking and I actually attempted to type in time with him but I dont know shorthand...
you should try tapping while typing.
I played millie...and trust me its very challenging. only after hearing it about ten thousand times could i get them right...and in time.
and the guy who played trevor...well, lets just say it all ended up sounding like gobbledee gook.
unfortunately my wheelchair is for more than just decoration so I couldnt possibly tap and type. :)

I had to call the show, and I could barely read it in time. In fact, by the end of the song when he's going really fast, I don't think I actually did read it. I was also calling off the score for the second half of the song which didn't help. Basically it was like: say GO, flip page, find cue word just in time, say GO, flip page...
And I had a really sadistic lighting designer who thought it was cute to have about ten bump cues during the "Graydon/Dillmount" thing at the end -- and of course they weren't evenly spaced on every other beat or anything intuitive like that. He even tried it once during tech and admitted it was basically impossible to call. I think I did it right once.
It's one of those songs that if hear it my stomach gets in a knot.
