everything I've heard on aladdin is that it'll be 2014!

my feeling is that although it is coming to BWAY, 2014 is just a rumor....a lot more work will be done before it happens.

In regards to the 3D, that was specific to the Tuacahn production, not the Aladdin musical development process as a whole. I also think Aladdin is on a faster timetable than Hunchback...my guess is that we'll see Aladdin way before Hunchback!

I don't think Scott has a shot at scoring a nomination. I think Miller, Murphy, and Foster though will certainly be on the list.

It's unfortunate that Peters and Stritch wont be eligible at all I think best featured actress in a musical is ABSOLUTELY going to Benanti.

I'm too young to have seen this revival, but since people are talking about it I thought it important that we all take a moment remember Shirley Verrett, who played a large role in this production of CAROUSEL and unfortunately passed away quite recently.

I just watched the video too....I find Amy Spanger to be really disingenuous. Do they actually have ice on the stage? Does anyone know how that works?

yeah, more or less. they're definitely a little flimsier haha. there was one point when the jets were climbing through the building windows and the whole building was shaking a bit.

I went to the dress rehearsal on Wednesday night and thought the show was spectacular. I had seen the revival in NYC and had been really disappointed with the quality of the show. I thought it felt like there was no spark at all. The tour cast, on the other hand, is simply electric. Every jet and shark is teeming with energy and the show is bursting with excitement. I love just about everyone in the cast. My only qualms were the occasional accent drops by Ali Ewoldt, who was otherwise simply ...

I love the Barbara Walsh idea. If we're going to go with younger, I'd love to see what Beth Leavel does with the role. I'd love to see her do something a little more, shall we say, serious?
