I'm going to see SPALDING GRAY: STORIES LEFT TO TELL tonight, and the directions on nytheatre.com to the Minetta Lane Theatre, which is located in the West Village, are as such:
Location:
North side of Minetta Lane, between 6th Avenue & MacDougal Street.
Directions:
Closest subway: A, B, C, D, E, F, Q to West 4th Street. Walk south on 6th Avenue to Minetta Lane, then east to the theatre.
I live on the Upper West Side. Can someone who is familiar with the West Village and with this theatre tell me that if I take the 1 train to Christopher Street, will it be a close walk?

Very close, Foster, but the C or B train at 4th is closer. Although looking at the time, you've probably already left, so I hope you enjoyed the show.

1 train to 59th street then the A/B/C/D to west 4th.
