Missing a show

Posted: 7/31/13 at 10:55pmJust listened to the NEXT TO NORMAL cast recording for the first time in a while and I can't believe how much I miss this show being on broadway. My favorite all around theater experience and cast...anyone ever get this feeling? Especially when a show closes that you loved seeing?

Next to Normal is my most cherished theatre experience and I haven't listened to the CR since the tour closed in July 2011 (two years ago today, actually). I can't listen to it anymore. Seeing the show felt like a very personal, intimate experience and I'm transported right back to that vulnerable spot every time I hear it. I miss it so much.

I miss N2N a lot. I am also a cryer when I get to the end. I was fortunate to see the show before the spoilers were out. That show was amazing to watch. one of the most emotionally draining shows I have ever seen.
I also miss Hairspray with a passion. I got to go to the cast party at The Palm the night Harvey went back in. It was just such a fun show.

Posted: 8/1/13 at 1:36amI moved to NYC a month after Next To Normal closed. I don't know anything about the show but I am honestly thinking about flying to Chicago and seeing it at the Drury Lane Theater. Just to experience what everyone has been talking about for these last few years.

Posted: 8/1/13 at 1:52amOh god... there are tons of shows I miss. I guess the one I miss the most would be the Jekyll & Hyde tour/revival. I also regret not being able to see Women On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown or Follies. I was planning to fly out to NYC for a weekend to catch Women On The Verge, but then it closed early. Follies started previews the day after I left the city. I came SO close to being able to see these productions. I adore both of them. I really wish I would have been able to see them.

Posted: 8/1/13 at 1:57amJust yesterday I realized how much I missed Next to Normal and spent tonight listening to the recording through again (and maybe crying a little...). I saw the tour twice with one of my closest friends, and all of my memories surrounding that show are so wonderful. I'm still really upset that I missed the chance to see it on Broadway.
