Moments in Mediocre Shows You'll Always Remember...#1

I just listened to Sweet Smell of Success, first time since I saw the show almost 4 years ago, and It reminded me of something pretty good. I remember the night vividly, I was so excited before, and after act one ended, I (along with the audience at the Hirschfeld Theatre) were very underwhelmed. Then "Rita's Tune" in act two came out of nowhere and blew us all away. I remember saying to myself "Now the shows's really starting." I had never seen an audience react like that before, hoenstly, it was like the number woke up all 1200 of us, lol.
Any of you have moments in mediocre shows like that? Moments or songs that just blew you away and came out of nowehere.

I remember Charlotte D'Amboise's second act entrance in CARRIE: THE MUSICAL. She had this big grin on her face that clearly said that she couldn't believe how bad it all was either.
A moment in GRIND when a group of strippers did a very sexy dance while putting their clothes ON, in a sort of reverse striptease. There were rumors that it was part of Bob Fosse's efforts as a show doctor.
In COAST OF UTOPIA: SALVAGE, Martha Plimpton and Josh Hamilton appeared on stage as a married couple who actually made me give a damn about them, made all the more memorable because nothing else in the play was even remotely interesting.

During a touring production of Chicago's curtain call a couple years back when Mary Sunshine removed "her" wig.
That show was pretty mediocre.

You READ MY MIND !! Same thing I was going to post (although, I have to admit... I like "SP" a lot more than most)
Also, the number where they talk about the men's clothing...
was it called "The Lord Created Men"? (or something like that)
Been a while since I played the OBCR--

Posted: 4/6/07 at 5:46pmI didn't think the show was mediocre, everyone else did though, but the Conflict Resolution scene in High Fidelity. Even the people who hated the show loved that scene. It's hilarious.
