there are more audys. However I think someone wrote March 21st - yet it is suppose to say May 21st...

If this is old news disregard.. but i dont think it is.

If someone is interested call one of the studios- and ask about this. and reply with confirmation.

For the upcoming feature film of Hairspray

SEEKING: Wholesome, all- American young dancers, 18-24 yrs old, to play teenagers who live in Baltimore during the early 60s. African-American dancers are strongly encouraged to attend.
*YOU MUST BE 18 YRS OLD BY JUNE 2006 TO ATTEND THIS CALL.

ALSO SEEKING: Sexy, African-American women, mid 20s to early 30s to play members of the girl group, The Dynamites (who are like The Supremes). Members of The Dynamites should either be strong dancers, or strong pop/gospel singers who move well.

Sunday March 21st, 2006 The Ailey Studios
Men: Sign-in at 10:00am The Joan Weill Center for Dance
Auditions begin at 10:30am 405 West 55th Street @9th Ave
Women: Sign-in At 1:00pm New York, NY 10019
Auditions begin at 2:00pm Studio 6A

Please be warmed up and ready to dance at your respective times.
Bring: Women and Men bring jazz shoes and a headshot and resume
stapled together!

Just wanted everyone's opinion, if you're actor currently in a show and have a show the day of the auditions and you send in your resume/headshot with a cover letter to binder casting explaining that, do you think there's any chance of an interview or audition at another date. I'm going to be in new york that immediate monday-thursday and was wondering what my shot was.

I am not sure about audition protocol... but i say - why not give it a shot. You might be able to attend a call back or something. just go for it.

hey, got good news... just wanted to post that you should send your stuff to them, i sent in my resume/headshot and cover letter and they've called, i have meeting with them that exact week after the open call because i was going to be in New York anyway for other auditions...
